Lions share brutal injury news after loss to Bills

The Detroit Lions’ injury problems persisted on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.

In a thrilling 48-42 game at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan, the Bills narrowly defeated the Lions. Despite trailing 35-14 in the third quarter, the Lions fought back but were unable to complete their comeback

Detroit’s defeat on Sunday went beyond the final score. The Lions also lost two key defenders to injuries that could end their seasons.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell informed reporters post-game that defensive lineman Alim McNeill and cornerback Carlton Davis are feared to be done for the year.

Detroit’s defense has been severely impacted by injuries this season. It’s arguably the biggest concern facing the Lions’ quest for a Super Bowl appearance this year.

Star pass rusher Aidan Hutchinson suffered a fractured left tibia and fibula in Week 6. While there have been reports suggesting Hutchinson could return for Detroit’s playoff push, it doesn’t seem likely.

Linebacker Alex Anzalone also sustained a serious arm injury during the Lions’ Week 11 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

With McNeill and Davis both sidelined, Detroit will have over a dozen defensive players on injured reserve heading into next week.
