Leicester’s player ratings from Norwich debacle with few standouts

It was an afternoon to forget for Leicester City as they slumped to a damaging defeat against Norwich City, a performance that left supporters frustrated and searching for positives. From defensive lapses to a lack of cutting edge in attack, the Foxes rarely looked in control. Here’s how the players rated in a sobering outing at Carrow Road.

Goalkeeper

Mads Hermansen – 6/10

Left exposed far too often by the defence in front of him, Hermansen made a couple of sharp saves to prevent the scoreline from becoming even more embarrassing. His distribution was tidy, but he could do little about the goals conceded. One of the few to emerge with credit.

Defence

James Justin – 4/10

Struggled to contain Norwich’s wide threat and offered little going forward. Caught out of position on multiple occasions, he endured a difficult afternoon that summed up Leicester’s defensive frailties.

Jannik Vestergaard – 3/10

A torrid display at the heart of the defence. Slow to react and uncomfortable under pressure, Vestergaard was at fault in the build-up to at least one goal. Norwich’s attackers found too much space far too easily.

Wout Faes – 4/10

Showed flashes of aggression but lacked composure. His decision-making in key moments was questionable, and he struggled to organize the back line as Norwich pressed forward with confidence.

Ricardo Pereira – 5/10

Tried to inject urgency down the flank and was one of the few willing to carry the ball forward. However, defensive responsibilities limited his effectiveness, and he couldn’t turn the tide.

Midfield

Harry Winks – 5/10

Tasked with dictating tempo, Winks had spells of neat passing but failed to impose himself when the game demanded leadership. Overrun at times, he couldn’t stem Norwich’s momentum.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – 4/10

Usually a reliable engine in midfield, Dewsbury-Hall was surprisingly subdued. His pressing lacked bite, and he struggled to link defence with attack in meaningful fashion.

Wilfred Ndidi – 5/10

Worked hard to break up play but was often isolated. Made a few important tackles, yet the midfield as a unit lacked cohesion, leaving Ndidi firefighting for much of the match.

Attack

Stephy Mavididi – 5/10

Showed glimpses of pace and trickery but found himself crowded out. His final ball was inconsistent, and he rarely tested Norwich’s goalkeeper with real conviction.

Jamie Vardy – 4/10

A quiet outing for the veteran striker. Starved of service for long periods, Vardy’s movement went unrewarded. When half-chances arrived, they lacked the sharpness he once routinely displayed.

Patson Daka – 4/10

Introduced to add energy, Daka’s impact was minimal. He struggled to find space and failed to stretch the Norwich defence in the way Leicester desperately needed.

Substitutes

The changes made little difference. Leicester’s bench offered effort but not inspiration, as Norwich remained comfortable through the closing stages.

Overall Verdict

This was a collective failure more than an individual one. Defensive disorganization, midfield softness, and blunt attacking play combined in a performance that will raise serious questions. While a handful of players showed glimpses of resilience, there were few genuine standouts in a debacle that Leicester must quickly learn from. The Foxes will need a swift response if they are to restore confidence and momentum in the weeks ahead.
