Leicester City have named their 25-man squad for the 2025/26 Championship season.

As per EFL rules, all 24 Championship teams are required to submit a list of 25 players they can select.

There are a few ground rules to follow, for example, at least eight homegrown players must be included in the squad.

Players under the age of 21 don’t need to be registered and those not on professional deals (Jeremy Monga and Louis Page) are also not required to register.

Most of Marti Cifuentes’ squad selections are self-explanatory, but one name on the sheet may come as a surprise.

Harry Souttar included in Leicester City’s 25-man squad

Harry Souttar has had a difficult time at Leicester, and a rough one personally too.

The Australia international has hardly featured since his £15m move from Stoke City in January 2023 – even though he has never disappointed.

His loan spell to Sheffield United was cut short last season due to injury and although he isn’t recovered, has been named in the Foxes’ squad for the first half of the campaign.

Souttar is expected to be back in training by the end of October or the beginning of November, which suggests that Cifuentes may have plans to include the centre-back in his plans going forward.

Leicester City’s full 23-man squad

Due to there only being 23 spots filled, that allows some wiggle room for the Foxes to add two free agents if they needed to.
