Leicester City remain busy in the summer transfer window, with the Foxes having signed eight players so far and more expected to follow.
City will get their League One campaign underway this week against Notts County after beating Northampton Town in the Carabao Cup last week. The window has less than three weeks remaining and City, like most clubs in English football, are bracing themselves for more ins and outs.
Admir Bristric became the latest arrival at Seagrave earlier this week to bolster Russell Martin’s centre-forward options. A new centre-back is understood to be the priority following Ben Nelson’s knee injury, which will rule him out for the majority of the season.
So, here’s a round-up of the latest transfer news, reports and rumours as interest continues to grow in certain players…

James McConnell
The Athletic have reported that City are one of the clubs pushing to sign Liverpool youngster James McConnell. The defensive midfielder, who spent the first half of last season on loan at Ajax, is expected to leave the Premier League giants on loan this summer.
It’s claimed that there is plenty of interest from the Championship, with Leicester joining the race. After joining Liverpool from Sunderland at Under-15 level, the England Under-20 international has gone on to play in the Carabao Cup final, Europa League and FA Cup.
Oliver Skipp has played as Leicester’s defensive midfielder throughout pre-season and against Northampton, with Hamza Choudhury also still at the club. However, Skipp has been linked with a move to Preston and McConnell could be his replacement.
Caleb Okoli
Earlier in the summer, Caleb Okoli was one of the favourites to secure an early exit from Leicester. Fiorentina, Torino and Monza were all linked with moves for the Italian, but Okoli hasn’t moved yet and started Martin’s first game in charge, scoring the winner.
However, according to journalist Orazio Accomando on X, Serie A side Sassuolo have expressed interest in the centre-back, alongside other Italian and Championship clubs.
Leicester are said to value Okoli, 25, at around €8m (£6.8m), with three years remaining on his contract.
John Souttar
Harry Souttar’s brother, John, has been linked with a move to Leicester all summer, having worked with Martin at Rangers. The centre-back, who was part of Scotland’s World Cup squad, is expected to leave the Gers before the window closes.
New manager Derek McInnes has opted not to include Souttar in any of his first three matchday squads of the season amid uncertainty over his future. The latest development comes from Rangers Review, which suggests Leicester are now the most likely to sign Souttar.
Despite interest from the Championship, City could strengthen their centre-back options with the signing of the 29-year-old.

After City boss Martin said that any team wanting to sign Souttar would have to pay a lot of money, Sheffield United appear to be preparing to do just that.
John Percy has reported that the Blades are moving closer to signing the defender, despite having a second offer worth £8m, including add-ons, turned down. It’s said that an improved bid worth £10m plus add-ons is imminent and could be enough to force Leicester’s hand.
Souttar, who captained City in the cup win over Northampton, is said to have informed the club of his desire to leave.
Shim Mheuka
Chelsea youngster Shim Mheuka is one player that LeicestershireLive identified as a potential loan signing for Leicester. Bristric’s arrival is expected to be followed by another striker before the window closes, with a loan move likely to be considered.
However, BBC Sport have reported that the 18-year-old has attracted interest from ‘more than a dozen clubs across Europe and the Championship’. It remains unclear whether Leicester are among them.
