The centre-back pairing of Ben Nelson and Caleb Okoli is retained at the CBS Arena despite Jannik Vestergaard recovering from the ankle injury he suffered at Cheltenham.

Boubakary Soumare is back in the squad for the first time since the end of November as he makes his comeback from a knee problem, but the Frenchman is only on the bench, with the midfield trio of Oliver Skipp, Jordan James, and Bobby De Cordova-Reid – one that has started every league game since the beginning of December – again in place.

In attack, Abdul Fatawu starts on the right wing after he was rested for last weekend’s cup match, while Jordan Ayew is preferred to Patson Daka up front.

With Fatawu and Soumare returning to the squad, there’s no place on the bench for either Wanya Marcal or Jake Evans.

City (4-3-3): Stolarczyk; Ricardo, Okoli, Nelson, L Thomas; Skipp, James, De Cordova-Reid; Fatawu, Ayew, Mavididi.
