Leeds United are advancing on making a “top loan signing” in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed the Yorkshire giants are looking to “strengthen up front” this month.
The Whites currently sit second in the Championship and have scored more goals than any other team in the division.
However, Farke is still hoping to bring in some fresh faces to provide himself with more options in the final third, especially if Wilfried Gnonto is sold this month.
Middlesbrough’s Emanuel Latte Lath is a target for Leeds in January, as he is seen as someone who could add quality to Farke’s squad.
The Ivory Coast international has scored 10 goals and provided two assists in 28 appearances this season across all competitions.
Leeds will face competition to sign Latte Lath
Well-placed sources have told Football Insider that Leeds would need to sell some of their own players to raise some money to sign Lath, as a loan deal isn’t possible.
Leeds are likely to place their focus elsewhere in the transfer market, with a top loan option being preferred.
The Whites are also hoping to bolster their defensive options in the January transfer window, with Tottenham’s Ben Davies being seen as an option.
