Georgia football rookie DB scores two points

Former Georgia Bulldog Kamari Lassiter has already made a significant impact for the Houston Texans in his rookie season. After being selected in the second round of the 2024 NFL draft, he outperformed former Ohio State cornerback Jeff Okudah to earn the starting role.

One of Lassiter’s standout plays this season came on Christmas Day against the Baltimore Ravens. The Texans had pinned the Ravens at their own three-yard line when Lassiter tackled former legendary Alabama running back Derrick Henry in the end zone for a safety. Those two points were the Texans’ only score in their 31-2 loss to the Ravens.

Lassiter is currently tied for ninth in the defensive rookie of the year odds on BetMGM. Additionally, he holds the 10th spot among rookie DBs on PFF, with a grade of 70.1 (subscription required). As a rookie, he has shown promise, and next year, fans of the Georgia Bulldogs could look forward to his growth.
