Georgia football opens as road favorites against Alabama

 

 

The Georgia Bulldogs are over two months away from their season opener against the Tennessee State Tigers. Georgia has a good portion of the offseason left, but Bulldogs fans are already eyeing Georgia’s schedule and seeing how the Dawgs will perform in 2026.

 

Georgia is early road favorites for their Oct. 10 road trip to play the Alabama Crimson Tide. We do know that the Georgia-Alabama game will be a night (6-8 p.m. ET) kickoff. Bryant-Denny Stadium should be rocking.

 

Georgia and Alabama met twice during the 2025 college football season with Georgia winning the SEC championship 28-7 in dominant fashion. The Bulldogs had their 33-game home winning streak snapped against Alabama when the Crimson Tide earned a 24-21 road win against Georgia.

 

Georgia coach Kirby Smart has a 1-2 record against Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer with DeBoer and Alabama winning (41-34) Georgia’s last trip to Alabama in 2024. The Bulldogs are only 2-8 against Alabama during the Smart era, but Georgia has won two of the last five meetings in the series.

 

Senior Gunner Stockton is expected to start for Georgia while Alabama has a quarterback competition this summer to determine their starter. Alabama quarterbacks Austin Mack and Keelon Russell are competing for the starting role.
