Georgia football has been trending in the right direction with a lot of recruits recently. A lot of that has to do with all the work Kirby Smart and his staff have been putting in on the recruiting trail so far this offseason, and it appears that work is paying off as the Bulldogs are the team to beat according to one extremely talented recruit in the 2026 class.
Tyriq Green is a four-star ATH from Buford, GA. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Green is the No. 167 player in the country. He also is the No. 22 player from Georgia and No. 10 ATH in the 2026 class as well.
Green is someone Georgia has been high no for quite some time, and it appears that Green is high on the Bulldogs as well. Not only was Green in Athens for Georgia’s most recent Junior Day, but he shared the following statement with 247Sports.
“I feel like Georgia’s separated themselves a lot,” Green said via 247sports.com.
When speaking about what he loves about Georgia, Green shared, “Really just being able to put me anywhere on the defense. Just going up there, it’s family up there. Our relationship’s strong. I’m comfortable around them. I can be myself. It’s just relationships. It’s somewhere I can go be myself and be comfortable and just be me.”
247Sports also stated that Green is looking to take visits to a few other schools as well including Ohio State, Florida State, Miami (FL) and Tennessee. No official visits have been scheduled to any of these schools including Georgia yet, but that is the expectations right now.
But this recruitment feels like one that is Georgia’s to lose based on these comments from Green. And hopefully these comments turn into a commitment in the future because he would clearly be a massive addition to the program.
