Can Georgia make it six days in a row with a commitment?
Another day means yet another commitment for Georgia football. On top of that, the Bulldogs got some more good news with a five-star linebacker that is potentially their most important recruit they are targeting right now.
But before jumping into that good news, let’s first begin with the latest recruit who has announced their commitment to Georgia.
Georgia finds WR replacement after losing top commit
Just a few days ago Georgia lost their commitment from top 100 wide receiver Vance Spafford, who flipped from Georgia to Miami (FL). Georgia however wasted no time in finding his replacement as the Bulldogs earned a commitment from four-star wide receiver Craig Dandridge Thursday afternoon.
This is now the fitfth day in a row that Georgia has earned a commitment which is potentially the best recruiting run in recent history for UGA. On top of that, this commitment caused Georgia to move up one spot to No. 3 in the 247Sports team recruiting rankings.
Alabama beats Georgia for 5-star RB
The Bulldogs are after a fair amount of five-star recruits in this recruiting cycle. So far they have only landed one five-star player in quarterback Jared Curtis, but Georgia is trending well with a few other five-star targets.
One five-star Georgia has prioritized is running back Ezavier Crowell, who just announced his commitment on Thursday. Unfortunately he chose to commit to SEC rival Alabama over Georgia and a few other elite programs.
While this is an unfortunate loss for Georgia, there is no reason to panic because the Bulldogs are reportedly the current leader for fellow five-star running back Derrek Cooper.
Texas is hurting their pursuit of Georgia’s No. 1 recruit
Georgia football is the current leader for five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson after his four official visits in June. The biggest competition for UGA in this recruit is Texas, but the Longhorns may be indirectly helping Georgia’s pursuit of Atkinson.
Texas just received a prediction to land a commitment from four-star linebacker Kosi Okpala earlier this week.
If Texas wins that recruitment, it would be their second player added to their recruiting class at Atkinson’s position. Who knows how that would make Atkinson feel, but there is a chance this could give him more pause when thinking about if Texas is the right place for him or not.
