Leeds United are in the market for attacking additions this month, and the club could now return to a past target to reinforce their striker ranks.
Leeds linked with player-plus-cash striker move
Lukas Nmecha said it “felt amazing” after his stoppage-time goal clinched Daniel Farke’s side a 1-0 win against Fulham at the weekend, but the summer signing may soon have more competition for places.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has made the shirt his own thanks to his red hot patch of form since the end of November, but given the former Everton man’s previous struggles with injury, Daniel Farke is keen to add a new out and out number nine in the January transfer window.

Graham Smyth, writing for the Yorkshire Evening Post, confirmed the Whites are unlikely to move for rumoured target Romano Schmid and instead will focus their efforts on signing a recognised strike
Jorgen Strand Larsen has been the name on everyone’s lips, with Wolves expected to need to sell this month given their almost certain relegation to the Championship.
The likes of Leeds, Everton and Newcastle have all been linked with the towering Scandinavian, but 49ers Enterprises could soon turn to a summer target instead.
Leeds considering January move for Troy Parrott
Leeds have sounded out a move for AZ Alkmaar and Republic of Ireland striker Troy Parrott, sources close to the player have told Football FanCast.
The 23 year-old, who scored a memorable hat-trick to keep his country’s hopes of World Cup qualification alive, was linked with a move to Elland Road in the summer and again in December, having scored nine goals in 13 Eredivisie appearances this season.
He is thought to be extremely happy in the Netherlands, but would eventually like to test himself in the Premier League, and Leeds have made contact over a possible deal this month.

The young striker has drawn praise aplenty thanks to his international exploits in recent months, but has also impressed at club level, wowing Shelbourne defenders when the Irish club played against AZ in the UEFA Conference League in November.
“He has the best movement that I have ever played against. He’s unbelievable. Unbelievable player,” said defender Paddy Barrett.
“He’s probably the hottest thing at the minute in European football. He’s flying and it’s great for us as a country. Hopefully he can continue to do what he’s doing.
“I said that to him. You have to give credit where it’s due. He’s been doing great for the country.
“Obviously I’m happy he didn’t score but if he can continue to do what he has been doing for our country then great. He’s a top, top striker. The world is his oyster if he keeps doing what he’s doing. The sky is the limit.”
Reports suggest AZ would reluctantly cash in for a fee of around triple what they paid to bring him to the club from Tottenham, which was £6.7 million.
