With John Turntine‘s pledge to Texas, 34 of the top 50 players in the Rivals Industry Ranking have now announced a public commitment as of 11:40 a.m. on July 5. More names will come off the board in the coming weeks as July has become the main month for commitments, but the names thus far have been spread out across 18 different schools.
Alabama leads the way with four top-50 pledges at the current juncture, with Texas, Oregon, Texas A&M, USC, and Notre Dame just after them with three top-50 pledges apiece.

Miami, Maryland, Texas Tech, Tennessee, Houston, BYU, Washington, Michigan, and Ole Miss all have one top-50 player in their classes. Some of those schools are perennial title contenders while others function as examples of how teams can prioritize individual recruits in a way other schools can’t match in the NIL and House revenue sharing era.
Texas is still after almost 10 targets in the top 50 who have not yet announced a commitment. While these numbers can change quickly, they do show that the Longhorns are pulling in elite talent at a clip comparable to other national powers and that elite talent is becoming more spread out among non-traditional powers in the NIL era.
