Texas has chosen to wear their road white uniforms for the SEC Championship matchup against Georgia.

With Athens being just 70 miles away from Atlanta, where around 90,000 Georgia fans reside, the Longhorns will essentially be facing a road game environment on Saturday.

AUSTIN, Texas — As the higher seed, the No. 3 Texas Longhorns are technically the home team for Saturday’s SEC Championship game against the No. 7 Georgia Bulldogs in Atlanta. Initially, it was assumed that Texas would wear their burnt orange home jerseys for the game. However, the conference confirmed on Monday that Texas will instead don their iconic icy white road uniforms, as head coach Steve Sarkisian anticipates a hostile atmosphere. Mercedes-Benz Stadium is located just 70 miles from Athens, and with around 90,000 Georgia alumni in the area, the environment is expected to be overwhelmingly pro-Bulldogs.

Sarkisian sees this as “essentially a road game” for the Longhorns, so they are approaching the matchup as such. Texas has thrived in road games, having won 11 consecutive away contests, and it is an environment the team has learned to embrace under Sarkisian in his fourth year. “Our guys do enjoy it. It’s been a journey to get here, but we’ve played some of our best football in tough environments. That gives me confidence heading into this one and understanding what it will take to come out on top,” Sarkisian shared.

. Georgia’s most recent injury update brings positive news for UGA’s running back struggles.

Georgia football may be getting some much-needed help at running back soon. The team’s injury issues have piled up recently, with the running back group hit hardest. Branson Robinson and Roderick Robinson have both been sidelined for an extended period, and Trevor Etienne recently joined them on the injury list. Even wide receiver Dillon Bell got hurt while stepping in at running back.

This has had a major impact on Georgia’s offense, but fortunately, freshman Nate Frazier has stepped up to fill the gap. However, it’s clear that Georgia can’t rely on Frazier alone for the long term, so they desperately need reinforcements.

It seems that help is on the way, as seen in the latest injury report ahead of Georgia’s upcoming game against in-state rival Georgia Tech on Friday night.

    Georgia football latest injury report
    Player – Status
    WR Colbie Young – Out
    OT Nyier Daniels – Out
    OT Marcus Harrison – Out
    DE Joseph Jonah-Ajonye – Out
    LB Kirs Jones – Out
    RB Trevor Etienne – Doubtful
    DT Christen Miller – Doubtful
    RB Branson Robinson – Questionable
    RB Roderick Robinson – Questionable
    WR Dillon Bell – Questionable
    WR Anthony Evans – Questionable
    OT Earnest Greene – Probable
    STAR Joenel Aguero – Probable
    OL Micah Morris – Available

It’s clear that both Branson Robinson and Roderick Robinson are now listed as questionable, the first time either has been listed as anything other than out in quite a while. Additionally, Etienne has been upgraded from out to doubtful. While this likely means he won’t play against Georgia Tech, it indicates he’s progressing and could be ready for the SEC Championship game next week.

While there’s no certainty that any of these three players will return against Georgia Tech, it’s encouraging to see that all of them are close to returning. This is exactly what Georgia needs if they aim to win the SEC Championship and make a deep run in the College Football Playoff.

The hope is that at least one of these players will make their return Friday night against Georgia Tech, allowing them to regain some confidence as they head into postseason play.

Former Georgia assistant thanks Kirby Smart after massive upset win

Former Georgia Bulldog defensive backs coach Fran Brown has done great work in revitalizing the Syracuse football program. Brown improved the Orange’s record from 6-7 in 2023 to 9-3 in 2024, earning a top 25 spot and a solid bowl game in his first year on the job.

The Orange boast one of the best offenses in the ACC led by former Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord and former Georgia wide receiver Jackson Meeks.

Syracuse’s biggest win of the season came in rivalry week, when the Syracuse Orange defeated the No. 6 Miami Hurricanes 42-38. Syracuse was down 21-0 at one point, but the Orange rallied to knock the Hurricanes out of the ACC championship matchup and potentially the College Football Playoff.

Fran Brown gave his old boss Kirby Smart a shoutout after the win: “Hey Kirby Smart, thank you for that message earlier, Kirby. Means so much to me, Coach Smart. I appreciate you, I love you. Thank you,” Brown said.

Star Quarterback Turns Down Georgia Ahead of the SEC Championship

    By Jonathan Adams Athlon Sports

The Georgia Bulldogs are no longer in contention to land one star quarterback. Georgia continues to be an appealing landing spot with Carson Beck being a potential candidate to enter the 2025 NFL draft.

It is not all bad news as Georgia just flipped three-star quarterback Hezekiah Millender from his previous commitment to the Boise State Broncos as part of the 2025 class, per On3.com’s Hayes Fawcett.

One four-star quarterback has eliminated Georgia from contention. Instead, the signal-caller has narrowed his focus to the Oregon Ducks and Cal Bears.

The news comes as Georgia prepares to take on the Texas Longhorns in the SEC championship. Georgia is a 2.5-point underdog versus Texas in the SEC title game, per FanDuel.

ESPN’s Eli Lederman reported that Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele canceled a visit to Athens, Ga. and the Dawgs are no longer among the contenders to land the signal-caller. ESPN has Sagapolutele as the No. 17 ranked pocket quarterback in the 2025 class.

“Elsewhere, four-star quarterback Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele — Hawaii’s No. 1 prospect — has narrowed his options to Cal and Oregon after canceling a planned visit to Georgia in Week 14,” Lederman wrote on Nov. 30.

“… Sagapolutele was among the handful of quarterbacks Georgia has targeted in the last month as the Bulldogs seek to add another 2025 passer to go with four-star pledge Ryan Montgomery (No. 115 in the ESPN 300).”

  • Georgia senior class end their careers with another impressive feat

Georgia senior class end their careers with another impressive feat

Georgia football’s senior class has accomplished a lot during their four years in Athens. They have won an SEC Championship, two National Championships and currently have the most wins for any senior class in Georgia football history.

But there’s another accomplishment this group just achieved this weekend after their win against Georgia Tech that may not be as great as the three accomplishments mentioned, but is still very impressive and one every Georgia fan should be very excited about.

Senior class never lost to their rivals

Georgia’s win over Georgia Tech extended their win streak over the Yellow Jackets to seven in a row. But what about UGA’s other rivals? Georgia is currently on an eight game win streak against Auburn and a four game win streak over Florida.

So that means that Georgia’s senior class has never lost to any of their rivals during their four year career. On top of these three teams, the Bulldogs’s senior class did not lose to Tennessee either. Sure the Vols are not a rival like the other three teams, but Tennessee always seems to have really good team recently, so beating them every year is a huge accomplishment as well.

Sure this year’s senior class will be remembered for many other things before this accomplishment, but it can’t be stated enough how great of an accomplishment this really is. Everyone knows how difficult it is to win rivalry games, even as a big favorite. Georgia just learned that against Georgia Tech Friday night. So for UGA to beat all of their rivals and Tennessee the last four years, when these teams wanted to do nothing more than pull off the upset against the Bulldogs, is something that should and will always be remembered.

Hopefully this trend continues under Kirby Smart, because Georgia fans have gotten very used to this dominance over their rivals. But for now, let’s enjoy this run while it lasts and give this class the credit they deserve, because beating Georgia’s rivals is one of the best things every season.
