Struggling to Raise 3 Children, Usain Bolt Speaks on Parenthood After Track & Field Retirement

“[It’s harder] being a father of three, of all of them, especially when they’re crying,” Usain Bolt said in an interaction with People in 2021. Given his nature, he has been straightforward when it comes to talking about anything, and the same goes for parenting. Also coming from a humble Jamaican background, he has an ample idea regarding the good and bad days in playing the role. Bolt further added, “It’s great, but everybody’s crying. It’s pandemonium in the house.” Four years later, has that ‘pandemonium’ stopped?

Well, Usain Bolt’s daughter, Olympia Lightning, is 4 now. His twin sons, Saint Leo and Thunder, are now three years old. So do they cry the same now as they used to four years ago? Hard to guess! Nonetheless, the Jamaican legend has many things to share about his present role as a parent. It may not be as ‘pandemonium’ as it used to be, but if you believe his words, the ride is no less of a rollercoaster.

On February 22, the YouTube channel Meet The Mitchells uploaded a long video of the interaction between Usain Bolt and the host, Wayne ‘Marshall’ Mitchell. The conversation between them had almost every relevant topic covered. And it also featured the topic of Usain Bolt’s parenthood. He remained an open book while giving his handy skill for overcoming the obstacles of fatherhood.

Here are the articles that inspired recent polls.

According to him, parenthood is all about banking on ‘patience.’ And being one of the greatest ever athletes on the earth, he has never been probably short of patience. Even 8 years after retiring from the sport, he still has the feature. But the patience parenthood needs poses different challenges. But how?

In the interaction, Bolt explained, “[You may] never have patience with certain things, but when you have kids, you have to understand, take time to develop, understand what needs to be done…..Patience will help them help to teach them and make sure everything is, so that’s what I’ve learned.” Four years after calling everything ‘pandemonium,’ this patience might have helped him to get over things. His late-found positivity in the profound role has even made him someone not to load his children with his expectations.

On this topic, the eight-time Olympic champion said, “It don’t look good, you know not press them into doing anything.” He is not even ready to make his three kids choose track and field sports as their profession. The reason? “Outside tracks, less pressure for them,” the caring father unequivocally claimed. Realizations like these might make things a splendid picture.

But for Usain, there are still things giving him issues to build that pleasant picture.

The retirement fund issue is still growing large

Usain Bolt thought about having a happy, pleasant life right after his track retirement with Kasi J. Bennett and their three children. And everything could have been well if there had been a rapid solution to the fraud he faced.

It is more than two years since Bolt has lost about $12.7 million from his retirement fund deposited in Stocks and Securities Limited (SSL). During this time, several big names came forward, assuring Bolt to provide a quick solution. But almost zero advancement has been made on the topic. Meanwhile, such a scene has frustrated the former world champion.

    Article continues below this ad

Usain has yet to get a dime from SSL. With him, there are more than 200 individuals who have gone through almost a similar fate, losing deposited money to that firm. Sadly they are yet to get anything back, just like Usain. This kind of scene inflicted a major pain on the Jamaican legend.

In his conversation with The Fix about two weeks ago, he gave his blunt message: “It’s been two years. There have been conversations, but nothing has materialized out of those talks. If they were doing enough, it would a reach a certain level already.” His questions are on the authorities’ will! Any improvement since that interview? No. But as Usain Bolt said, ‘patience.’

NASCAR Penalizes Two Teams After Surprise Atlanta Infringement

NASCAR slapped fines on two Xfinity Series teams after the Atlanta race for safety rule violations.

The Haas Factory Team No. 00 and Big Machine Racing No. 48 both got caught with improperly installed lug nuts, which led to a $5,000 fine for each team. The issue, found during post-race inspections, fell under Section 8.8.10.4a of the NASCAR Rule Book.

NASCAR stated: “Both cars were found to have at least one lug nut not properly installed, which is a safety violation noted in Section 8.8.10.4a in the NASCAR Rule Book. The teams were each fined $5,000.”

Big Machine Racing’s No. 48 is driven by Nick Sanchez, who managed to snag his first-ever top-five finish in the Xfinity Series in Atlanta, overcoming some early damage to his car.

Meanwhile, Sheldon Creed, driving the Haas Factory Team No. 00 Ford, ended the race in the 14th position. The Haas Factory Team was formed after Stewart-Haas Racing, co-owned by Gene Haas and former NASCAR driver Tony Stewart, decided to close down at the end of 2024.

Despite the penalty, Creed is currently in second position in the Xfinity championship standings. Whereas, Sanchez is in fifteenth.

This comes ahead of this weekend’s race at the iconic Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. The NASCAR Xfinity Series Focused Health 250 is set to take place on Saturday 1st March at 2.30 p.m. ET. Fans who want to follow the action live can watch on CW, PRN, and SiriusXM.

  • Certain NASCAR Cup Series Drivers to Earn Millions in Bonuses During 2025 Season

Certain NASCAR Cup Series Drivers to Earn Millions in Bonuses During 2025 Season

The 2025 NASCAR Cup Series campaign officially got underway at the Daytona 500 on Feb. 16. As is the case at the start of every new season, drivers have been more in the public eye, attending pre-race events as well as making television appearances promoting the sport.

But for fans paying attention, they realize the drivers haven’t stopped there. Drivers have shown up in other capacities around the nation, including Chase Elliott and Bubba Wallace making the rounds in Chicago and appearing on Barstool Sports. Ryan Blaney and his new wife Gianna visited Austin, Texas for some good eats and good times.

These additional appearances aren’t by accident. They’re intentional, and most importantly, they’re profitable for the drivers as a part of NASCAR’s new Driver Ambassador Program, which is designed to get the drivers out in the public and reward them for doing so.

Through an app, drivers and their agents can see potential media opportunities available that are in addition to the traditional at-track appearances done in the past. The app features a scoring system and drivers receive points for their respective appearances.

According to the Sports Business Journal, drivers receive one point for every 15 minutes. The larger the media platform, the more points earned. A national television appearance earns four points in an hour.

There will be two payouts each year. After all the points are added up during each period, the top performer will receive $1 million while the bottom performer is expected to receive around $7,500. One driver could potentially earn $2 million for the year.

“ I think it’s good,” Blaney said during his visit to the Lone Star State. “I think you’re going to see a lot of guys – Chase is a great example of going out and doing 10 times more stuff than what we would do. And this is everybody than what we normally do just because you’re getting some extra dough to do it right.

“And I think that’s right. If you’re doing work, extra work, you should be compensated for it. I think I was happy with where it got. And I think you’re gonna see the sport get healthier as well from it because you’re gonna have the whole field want to do all this stuff.”

The sport will get healthier as will the drivers’ bank accounts in what appears to be a win-win situation for everyone involved.

Usain Bolt reveals how ‘politics’ denied him chance of announcing himself on world stage as 17-year-old

Usain Bolt has revealed that ‘politics’ denied him the chance of running at the 2003 World Championships.

The Jamaican sprinting star admitted that he was supposed to run at the competition but was prevented from doing so.

Just a few months before, he had won the the Jamaican National Championships with an electrifying 200m time of 20.28.

He also equalled the world junior time and was unquestionably going to be the next star of the sport.

This made Bolt’s exclusion all the more controversial.

Speaking on the Meet the Mitchells podcast on YouTube, he explained: “A lot of people do not even know I went to the 2003 World Athletics Championships in France.

“I was there when Asafa Powell false-started alongside Jon Drummond when he laid down on the track.

“I was there that year. I was supposed to run, but it was a long story. There was a lot of politics involved in the system revolving around the JAAA because I was young and new. I was the one that won trials and had hit the times needed.

“I was assured that I would be running in the 4×100 meters, but when the event came, I was prevented from running. But I was a junior and did not know much.

“But you go through it all and you learn, and I joined Glen Mills two years later. Things started to evolve.”

Speaking on his early talent in his youth, he explained: “As a junior, I was so good with just a little bit of training.

“The ones I’d seen from age three or four, nobody could beat me. I’d win senior trials at 16 or 17. I was at a level where it was easy because I felt like this was it” he said.

This comes just days after Bolt revealed on The Fix podcast that he could have ‘broken the record again’.

His time of 9.58seconds over 100m from the 2009 World Championships in Berlin has stood for over 15 years.

Just four days later, he set the current 200m world record before completing the set with a 4x100m best at London 2012.

However, he believes he would have gone even quicker in 2011 had it not been for injuries.

“If I hadn’t got injured in the season, I would have broken the record again.

“That year, I was floating. I was running very well and the coach was excited. It was the first time I heard him say we were going to race and break the world record.”

As for the future of his record, he admitted that ‘anything is possible’, particularly as Noah Lyles targets the accolade himself.

“Track and field is evolving fast with the new spikes, everything changes. It’ll take some work but records are records.”

Bolt believes that fellow countryman Oblique Seville to be the one to take Jamaica back to the dominant force it once was in sprinting.

“Oblique can do it. If he can stay fit through the season and get it right, he can do it because I’m sure there’s something there, the ability to do it,” Bolt said.

Martin Keown shares what he has heard about Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli injury returns for Arsenal

Former Arsenal star Martin Keown has given a positive update regarding the progress of key duo Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli on the injury front.

The pair are two of four absences in the forward line for Mikel Arteta, who is having difficulties picking his best-attacking options for the campaign.

The centre-forward duo of Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are out injured for the season, coming as a blow for the remaining games.

There is some hope for Arsenal in terms of returning options though, with Bukayo Saka’s hamstring injury and Gabriel Martinelli’s hamstring tear keeping them sidelined but a return is expected in the coming weeks.

With the Premier League title and Champions League both still up for grabs, some positive injury news from Martin Keown comes as a huge boost.

Martin Keown shares positive Arsenal injury update

With Arsenal’s campaign hanging in the balance, Arteta will be hoping that some of his key stars can return in time to land some big wins.

The head coach will be particularly keen to have Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka available once again to change up the front line.

The pair are hopeful of a return over the coming weeks, with any time between March and April expected for the duo.

Bukayo Saka has been spotted back in training, while it remains to be seen when Martinelli could make his return.

On top of that, Arsenal legend Martin Keown has revealed a positive update, stating on TNT Sports about the injured forwards: “Martinelli they tell me is going well in training as well as Saka, but they’re not available tonight.”

There are some big games before both Saka and Martinelli are expected to be back, with the rest of the squad key in keeping Arsenal in the competitions they need to be if their stars can make an impact.

Arsenal must setup Champions League ties for Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli returns

Arsenal face an important week for their campaign, not only in the Premier League in terms of making the top four and keeping pressure on leaders Liverpool, but also in their Champions League hopes.

The Champions League round of 16 awaits with PSV Eindhoven across two legs in early March, where a victory is expected.

  • Lewis Hamilton boost with Ferrari on ‘pole position’ for F1 2025

Lewis Hamilton boost with Ferrari on ‘pole position’ for F1 2025

Lewis Hamilton believes he has “dramatically” shortened his adjustment period with Ferrari by carrying out an extensive pre-season TPC programme, says Ted Kravitz.

Kravitz’s comments come amid ‘rumours’ from paddock insiders that Ferrari will start the new season ‘from pole position’ as their SF-25 has overtaken McLaren’s MCL39 as the car to beat.

Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari: ‘There is nothing not to like’

After months of predictions with pundits putting forward their promises and doubts, F1 2025 begins in Bahrain on Wednesday with the start of three days of pre-season testing.

While the Bahrain outing by no means determines the upcoming season, which gets underway on March 16 with the Australian Grand Prix, it could give some indication as to who has got it right with their 2025 cars and who has missed the target.

Hamilton will be in action on the opening morning, putting the SF-25 through its paces in his first group outing as a Ferrari Formula 1 driver. After 12 years and six World Championships with Mercedes, last year Hamilton announced one final throw of the dice as the Briton chases an elusive eighth title in a move to Ferrari.

The 40-year-old took part in an extensive pre-season programme with Ferrari as he completed all four of his permitted TPC [Testing Previous Car] for the year behind the wheel of Ferrari’s 2023 F1 car while also driving a modified SF-24 during a Pirelli tyre test.

Kravitz, speaking on the The F1 Show podcast, claims Hamilton feels that running allowed him to acclimatise quicker than he did when he swapped from McLaren to Mercedes in 2013.

“There is nothing not to like about this story,” he said of Hamilton to Ferrari. “We will reflect the interest and enthusiasm of our audience as long as it stays interesting.

“If they are finishing third and fourth, then we’ll stop talking about them. But if we start winning, then obviously we’re going to talk about them.

“But having the seven-time World Champion, most successful driver, a great GOAT in a Ferrari, and the challenge that he’s going to have against Charles Leclerc is going to be really, really interesting.

“And what I did find, the main takeaway from the interview I did with him at the launch, is that he said that he was expecting, based on his previous team moves, to need a kind of six-month transition in getting to know a team and to be up here. And he is confident that he has shortened that dramatically.

“We might still hear [him saying] come Melbourne or the end of testing: ‘Oh, I’m maybe a few months behind, a few weeks behind.’

“But part of the whole testing of the previous car stuff in Fiorano and Barcelona, part of all of that was just short, cutting, shrinking that period of acclimatisation, and so that he is expecting, hoping, planning on being right up there with Leclerc at the beginning of the season.”

Hamilton and his team-mate Charles Leclerc have already covered 100km each in the new Ferrari SF-25, a car that Simon Lazenby reckons shows Ferrari are not “afraid” to make bold decisions.

“Ferrari have taken some bold steps with what they’re doing with the car,” he said. “It seems like they’re not afraid. They felt that they’d got to the limits, didn’t they, with what they had before.

“They’ve gone pullrod suspension at the front as well at the back. And they feel like that gives their aero team enough to work with, that they can then continue the trajectory that they’re on because they had momentum. And if you look at the average lap times between themselves in races between themselves and McLaren it’s thousandths of seconds now.”

Thousandths that, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, favour Ferrari this season.

The Italian publication is reporting that the ‘rumour’ from paddock insiders is that Ferrari will ‘start from pole position’ having overtaken McLaren with the SF-25.

‘The new SF-25 is the result of more extreme research than the Ferraris that preceded it and immediately seemed very fast,’ read the report.

But whether that comes to pass, Ferrari and their rivals will have a better idea come Wednesday evening.

  • Hamilton secures huge sponsor

    Hamilton secures huge sponsor

Lewis Hamilton’s new Lululemon deal: A perfect match for F1’s flashiest star as seven-time champion’s fashion-forward persona divides fans – Lewis Hamilton is no stranger to controversy, both on and off the track.

While he is the most successful Formula 1 driver in history, boasting a record-breaking career with seven world championships, his public image is defined as much by his off-track persona as his driving. This week, he added another layer to that identity, moving further into the world of fashion and lifestyle by signing a new ambassador deal with Lululemon.

The partnership, announced on Monday, adds Hamilton to Lululemon’s growing roster of sports ambassadors, which includes PGA stars Min Woo Lee and Max Homa, ATP tennis player Frances Tiafoe, WTA player Leylah Fernandez, NFL wide receiver DK Metcalf, NBA’s Jordan Clarkson and NHL prodigy Connor Bedard. It also marks the latest step in Hamilton’s ongoing transformation from pure racing driver to global celebrity and cultural icon.

But while Hamilton’s ability to transcend the world of motorsport has made him a favourite of brands and the media, it has also made him a divisive figure among die-hard F1 fans. His frequent appearances at Grand Prix weekends in extravagant designer outfits, his association with high fashion and his outspoken advocacy on social issues have led some to see him as more of a “peacock” than a racer. This new deal with Lululemon is unlikely to change that perception.

From Tommy Hilfiger to Lululemon: A change in style

Hamilton’s relationship with fashion has been central to his brand for years. His previous long-term sponsorship with Tommy Hilfiger, which began in 2018, was aligned with his then team Mercedes-AMG Petronas, and he was frequently seen wearing the brand’s bold, streetwear-inspired designs.

That partnership ended with his move to Ferrari for the 2025 season, paving the way for this new collaboration with Lululemon – an athleisure giant better known for yoga pants than motorsport.

For Hamilton, the move signals an evolution in his fashion partnerships. While Tommy Hilfiger focused on his high-end street style, Lululemon positions him in the ever-growing athleisure and wellness space – an area he has increasingly focused on in recent years. The brand emphasised that Hamilton will not only wear its clothing, but will also be actively involved in product development, research and innovation.

“Lululemon products are so high quality, look amazing and ultimately deliver the performance I need,” said Hamilton in a statement. “I’m excited to partner with a brand that takes a holistic approach to wellness. Together, we want to inspire our communities to be the best versions of themselves.”

That kind of language is exactly what frustrates some traditional F1 fans, who feel Hamilton’s off-track persona has become too polished, too corporate and too far removed from the raw, unfiltered image of old-school racing legends.

The ‘peacock’ persona that divides fans

Hamilton’s influence in F1 is undeniable, but his personal brand has evolved into something far removed from the rugged, grease-stained image of past champions. His presence in the paddock often resembles a high-fashion runway, with outfits ranging from brightly coloured oversized suits to avant-garde designer ensembles that wouldn’t be out of place at Paris Fashion Week.

To some, this makes him an icon – someone who has successfully redefined what it means to be a modern athlete. For others, it makes him an outlier, a driver who has strayed too far from the sport’s mechanical and competitive roots.

Critics argue that Hamilton’s obsession with fashion and social advocacy detracts from his racing focus, a claim that has only grown louder since his dominance in F1 waned following Mercedes’ decline after the 2021 season. His move to Ferrari, a team with its own legacy of iconic drivers, has left many wondering whether Hamilton will adapt to a more traditional role or continue as the sport’s ultimate showman.

Lululemon and Hamilton: A branding masterstroke

Lululemon’s decision to partner with Hamilton, however, is a calculated one. The brand is aggressively expanding into the men’s market, positioning itself not just as an athleisure label but as a serious player in high-performance sportswear. Hamilton, with its global appeal and commitment to fitness, is a perfect fit for this ambition.

Nikki Neuburger, Lululemon’s Chief Brand and Product Activation Officer, praised Hamilton as a “game-changer in every sense of the word” and said that his dedication to performance, wellness and social impact made him a perfect fit for the brand’s evolving identity.

As part of the partnership, Lululemon’s Centre for Social Impact will work with Hamilton’s foundation, Mission 44, to integrate exercise and mental health experiences into programmes aimed at empowering young people. This social activism has always been a key part of Hamilton’s brand, and while it resonates with many, it remains a point of contention for others who long for a time when drivers were seen and heard only in the context of their racing.

Front and centre in ‘No Holding Back’ campaign

Hamilton’s new deal with Lululemon will see him featured in the brand’s upcoming ‘No Holding Back’ campaign, which highlights the physical and mental resilience required to be a champion. The campaign will showcase Hamilton’s gruelling training routines, as well as his personal approach to wellness and preparation – areas where Lululemon hopes to establish itself as a credible name in men’s performance apparel.

Hamilton will be seen wearing the brand’s latest training collections, including the popular Metal Vent Tech range, further integrating him into the expanding world of high-end sportswear. Whether this partnership will sway traditional motorsport fans remains to be seen, but it is clear that Hamilton is fully committed to shaping his legacy as more than just a driver.

    Champion or celebrity?

As Hamilton embarks on this new chapter with Ferrari, the divide between fans is likely to deepen. To some, he remains the greatest driver of his generation, a man whose records speak for themselves regardless of his off-track endeavours. To others, he is a celebrity first, a racer second – a driver who has drifted into the world of fashion and branding at the expense of pure racing.

His new partnership with Lululemon only reinforces this perception. Whether he is seen as a visionary pushing the boundaries of what a Formula 1 driver can be, or a self-indulgent figure more focused on personal branding than his lap times, one thing is certain: Lewis Hamilton will continue to stand out, for better or worse.

F1 NEWS – FIA president to follow Trump’s lead to appease Russia

The invasion of Ukraine by the aggressor Russia three years ago today one February 24th 2022, saw Formula One take decisive action with almost immediate effect. The Uk almost immediately banned Russian drivers from competing within its territories and the US owned Haas F1 team found itself in rather a pickle.

They had hired the son of a Russian oligarch, Nikita Mazepin as one of their full time drivers for the season yet as the first missiles were fired on Kyiv, Haas were given some breathing space given this was day two of the test and their Russian driver was not scheduled to drive their car.

Haas F1 were primarily sponsored by Russian oligarch Dmitry Mazepin, the owner of Uralkali, who had ironically influenced the design of the team’s livery to resemble the Russian flag. As the massed ranks of Russian troops crossed the border into Ukraine, Formula One was undertaking its pre-season testing in Barcelona

Nathan Butler-Oyedeji also remains involved, as well as winger Ismeal Kabia. Right-back Josh Nichols, midfielder Ismail Oulad M’Hand, Michal Rosiak (who can play at both right-back and in midfield), and goalkeeper Tommy Setford were all involved in the session as well.

Arsenal have an extra squad spot on Wednesday as a result of Myles Lewis-Skelly’s suspension, so it’s likely one of the above players will join Butler-Oyedeji in getting a first-team call-up to travel to Nottingham.

Arteta will probably call up forward players, given the current senior injury crisis in the front three.

Kabia is the most likely to step up, having made his first-team debut earlier in the season. Butler-Oyedeji would be the youth centre-forward option with Kabia as an option on the wing.

But calling up Edwards wouldn’t be any more restrictive. Butler-Oyedeji can also play out wide, so with Edwards and Butler-Oyedeji, Arteta would still have at least one central option and one wide option.

Edwards hasn’t been given any chances in the Arsenal first-team squad this season, but he’s scored and assisted 12 goals in 12 games in the Premier League 2 with the u21s.

That’s the kind of form that saw Butler-Oyedeji called up, so maybe Edwards could be the next in line.

Kerby Joseph on expiring contract: ‘I want to be a lifelong Lion’

Lions safety Kerby Joseph has one more year left on his deal, and it’s clear he’d love to re-sign with the Detroit Lions long-term.

Detroit Lions safety Kerby Joseph is entering the final year of his rookie contract, and after leading the NFL with nine interceptions in 2024, he’s likely due for a big payday. And you can tell the 24-year-old defender is excited about the idea of a new contract because, during a recent appearance on the Jim Rome Show, Joseph literally started to rub his hands together when Rome brought up the topic of his extension.

“Man, I want to be a lifelong Lion, man,” Joseph said with a smile and a laugh. “I just love Detroit, man. I love the city, I love the people, I love the fans. It’s just everything to be here. When I first came, nobody really knew who I was, but they showed me love.”

Lions general manager Brad Holmes wasn’t asked about the negotiation progress with Joseph’s extension, and he typically doesn’t offer any public updates until a deal is done anyway. But during his NFL Combine press conference, Holmes did mention it in passing, noting how balancing the salary cap will become challenging now that many of his draft picks are reaching the point of possible extensions.

“You just can’t keep everybody,” Holmes said. “I really kinda looked at it after this year that we had the first-round pick in ‘21 that we already rewarded. ‘22 we had two ones. In ‘23 we had two ones. In ‘23, we had two twos that year, too, that we had graded as first-round picks. So that’s like seven first-round picks in total that are all players that, yeah we like them, but then you start adding on the non-first-round picks.

The (Amon-Ra) St. Browns that already got rewarded. You’ve got a Kerby Joseph that was a third. You know what I mean? So that starts to add up and you’ve got to make some tough decisions. We’ve already started a lot of that work already in terms of the preparation and planning, forecasting. Because whatever you do this year is going to impact financially the next year after, as well. So there’s a lot of work to do on that front.”

It’s unclear if Joseph will be part of those plans, but one thing is certain. he wants to be part of this franchise.

“I just love the fact that this organization—we didn’t have the best winning reputation, but now that we’re here and I’m here and the team is here, we’re basically coming from the ground up. And I just feel like that’s my whole story about my life,” Joseph said. “Coming from the ground up, bro. Going from zero to 100, I just feel like that’s everything I’m about, so I just love being a part of it.”

Hamilton’s on-track debut in Maranello drew hoards of Ferrari fans to witness his first laps, and now the first team radio message between Hamilton and his new race engineer, Riccardo Adami, has been revealed by Corriere dello Sport.

The exchange began with a radio check from Adami, to which Hamilton responded with spectacular emotion during his first drive with the team.

“Wow! Whew! Hehe,” Hamilton said over team radio.

!It’s a… wow, that was amazing,” the seven-time champion added.

Hamilton’s relationship with his race engineer is one of the most fascinating aspects of his Ferrari move given that the former Mercedes star has split with long-term ally Peter ‘Bono’ Bonnington.

Adama will replace ‘Bono’ as the man in Hamilton’s ear during a race, and it is crucial that the two get a solid understanding of one another if they are going to be successful.
