Arsenal already know the three signings they must complete in 2025 after transfer window closes

The summer transfer window is officially closed, and Arsenal should be fairly happy with the business they have done.

The Gunners had five key positions that needed strengthening when they entered the window back in June – backup goalkeeper, left-back, central midfielder, winger and striker.

Arsenal have addressed four of those issues with the signings of Neto, Riccardo Calafiori, Mikel Merino and Raheem Sterling, which makes this a solid window.

However, Edu Gaspar and Mikel Arteta know that there is more work to be done in 2025, and these are the three future signings we think they should start working on right away.

Three players Arsenal should sign in 2025

Alexander Isak

Arsenal have once again decided not to sign a new out-and-out striker in this window, and that could come back to haunt them this season.

Nothing can be done about that now, but we think Edu and Arteta should start working on their key striker targets for 2025.

We think Alexander Isak should be on top of the list. The Newcastle United star is one of the best strikers in the Premier League, and he has all the qualities to thrive in Arteta’s system.

Isak has even been compared to Thierry Henry, and the iconic number 14 shirt is waiting for him at Arsenal.

Arsenal have signed Sterling from Chelsea on a season-long loan deal, and we must say that this is an astute piece of business from Edu.

We think the Englishman will have a fine season at the Emirates, but we just can’t see a world in which Sterling’s loan will be made permanent in 2025, when he will be 30 years old.

Arsenal should dive back into the market for a long-term solution out wide next summer, and who better than Nico Williams?!

The Spaniard was a target for Arsenal this summer, but a move didn’t materialise. David Ornstein revealed that Williams was Arteta’s top target by a mile, and we think the Gunners boss should go back in for him in 2025.

Joan Garcia

Joan Garcia was Arsenal’s top target to replace Aaron Ramsdale in this summer’s transfer window, but a deal proved to be impossible in the end.

Espanyol wanted Arsenal to trigger Garcia’s release clause to sign him, but paying such a high price for a backup goalkeeper didn’t make a lot of sense.

Neto has come in on loan for this season, but he will return to Bournemouth in 2025, and Arsenal will need to bring in a new goalkeeper then.

We expect Garcia to be a target again for Arsenal next summer, and he would be the perfect backup to David Raya in the first-team.
