Once again, AC Milan are in the mercato for a right-back, for the third successive window. Today, they have been knocked back a little in their hunt.
It is not really a surprise that Milan need full-backs, less so that the Rossoneri are in need of a right-back. After all, the situation in the position has been ongoing for a few years now and there is no sense of getting it right just yet.
However, with a new head coach and sporting director in, there can be hope for the situation.
Doue: Part 1
There have been a few ideas so far this summer, but it seems that Guela Doue is the preferred option, with his price tag appealing. So, it is not a shock that the Diavolo have made an offer, which was reported earlier this week.
Today, though, reports state that this has been rejected by Strasbourg.
As Gazzetta dello Sport write, Milan made the ‘first move in the big game of full-backs’, attempting to sign Doue. However, their €15 million bid has not been successful, with Strasbourg wanting €20m at least to sell the right-back in June.
The same information is also present from MilanNews, who relay information from Fabrizio Romano. On his X account, the journalist stated that the €15m proposal has been rejected. However, he also suggests that there is no intention to sell the 22-year-old, with at least €35m being sought by BlueCo (the club’s owners).
Whether that figure will be matched will need to be seen, indeed.
