Bukayo Saka now joins Wayne Rooney and Cesc Fabregas in historic feat as Arsenal beat Aston Villa

Arsenal have just recorded an impressive 2-0 victory away at Aston Villa, and this was a particularly significant one for Bukayo Saka.

The winger continued to show why he is so important for MIkel Arteta’s side in Arsenal’s victory at Villa Park, and he is firmly establishing himself as one of the best players in his position.

The England star broke into the Arsenal first team in 2019, but Saka was almost loaned out by Unai Emery, before eventually making himself undroppable for Arteta.

Saka’s emergence made him one of the best young prospects in the Premier League over the last few seasons, and he has evolved into a leader within the team.

Arsenal were struggling under Emery and Arteta when Saka broke through, but he helped lead a resurgence as Arteta transformed the squad into title contenders, and the win over Villa saw the 22-year-old make history again.

Bukayo Saka enters Premier League history books as Arsenal beat Aston Villa

Saka’s appearance against Villa was his 172nd in the Premier League, and his 100th win. This made him just the fourth player in the history of the competition to reach 100 victories.

Saka is now alongside Wayne Rooney, Cesc Fabregas and Phil Foden in the record books, as the only players to reach 100 Premier League wins before turning 23.

Given that Saka is still 22, he ranks above Foden as the third-youngest, behind Fabregas and Rooney.

Rooney achieved his total so quickly as he broke through when just 16 at Everton before joining Manchester United, whilst Fabregas became a key player for Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal when he was just 17.

Bukayo Saka proves clutch for Arsenal yet again in Aston Villa win

Arsenal encountered a tough game at Aston Villa, and came under pressure before David Raya made an outstanding save from Ollie Watkins.

Saka performed superbly against a tough team, and he played a part in both goals, firing in a cross which eventually found Leandro Trossard to finish, before providing the assist as Thomas Partey scored the second goal.

In his 100th win, Saka proved vital again, and he is well on his way to becoming an Arsenal legend if he can help bring major trophies back to North London.
