The Philadelphia Eagles grinded out a hard-fought 28-22 victory over the Los Angeles Rams in their divisional round matchup to advance to set up a date with the Washington Commanders in the NFC championship game. However, star quarterback Jalen Hurts appears to have suffered a worrisome injury.
Hurts led Philly past L.A., as he threw for 128 yards, while also racking up 70 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Late in the third quarter, he ended up in the blue medical tent after his right leg got twisted when he was sacked by Jaylen McCollough for a two-yard loss.
The good news for the Eagles is that Hurts was able to return and finish out the game without taking anymore of a beating. The bad news is that he was seen limping pretty heavily on his way off the field to the team’s locker room, and fans are concerned about his status for Philly’s next game,
The replies were flying in on X, formerly known as Twitter, after this video hit social media. stated the obvious, saying, “It will be difficult to beat Washington without a healthy Hurts.”
was left hoping for the best, saying, “Jalen Hurts injury better not be severe.”
opted to send words of encouragement to the injured quarterback, noting that he “battled through injury like a warrior” to help lead his team back to the NFC championship game.
Hurts finishing the game is an encouraging sign, but his mobility was significantly limited after this injury. While it didn’t hurt the Eagles against the Rams, it could end up coming back to bite them against the Commanders.
For now, Philadelphia will enjoy their victory over Los Angeles. But as the week progresses, all eyes will be on Hurts’ injury status to see if he will be able to play through this ailment.
