Saint Lucia’s Miss Universe queen representative Skye Faucher paid homage to her country’s new fame in women’s sports by honouring Olympic champion Julien Alfred with her costume piece at the ongoing beauty showpiece in Mexico.
The 73rd Miss Universe beauty pageant is a global, inclusive organization that celebrates all cultures, backgrounds, and religions of beautiful and elegant women representing their respective countries, with this year’s edition being held in the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico.

The 16-day competition on its penultimate, was dedicated to costume day with each beauty queen representing their culture and traditions.
Dressed in Saint Lucian colours, Faucher wore an Olympic-themed costume, paying homage to Alfred’s historic achievements in Paris for winning 100m gold and 200m silver medals – her country’s first in the Games history.
Since her historic achievements, the speed queen has become an ambassador for Saint Lucia and a household name in women’s sports, winning several awards including the Olympic Female Athlete of the Year at the ANOC Awards.
