Los Angeles Lakers Could Sign $120 Million Miami Heat Star in Blockbuster Proposed Trade

Just like the Miami Heat, the Los Angeles Lakers are a team with an aging superstar and a limited championship window. LeBron James will be 40 by the time this season comes to an end.

For his age, LeBron is exceptional. But one has to recognize he is nowhere near his prime. He is not the best basketball player on the planet anymore.

The Lakers have not surrounded him with a roster of players that can help him to a fifth ring.

Then, there is all the discussion around the drafting of Bronny James and the hiring of JJ Redick as head coach. Put together, it feels like a recipe for disaster. Unless the Lakers decide to make a few moves.

In the article “4 Most Realistic NBA Stars The Lakers Could Land For First-Round Picks” on FadeAway World, one of the players Eddie Bitar suggested was Tyler Herro.

Bitar proposed a trade that would see the Lakers receive Herro for D’Angelo Russell, Rui Hachimura and first-round picks in 2029 and 2031.

This feels like a neither here nor there kind of move for the Heat.

Admittedly, Herro’s name has been brought up in numerous hypothetical trade proposals in recent months. Trading him would make sense if the Heat were bringing in win-now talent to team with Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler.

Would a return of Russell, Hachimura and two draft picks represent that? The simple answer is no.

If the Heat are already planning for life after Jimmy Butler then it makes sense for them to stick with Herro.

Yes, his output has plateaued the past three seasons, but he is still averaging over 20 points every night. He could still take another step in his development.
