Leicester City linked with transfer for winger who has been their scourge

Leicester City transfer latest as they’re linked with a loan move for former Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha

Leicester City are reportedly in contact with Galatasaray over a potential loan move for winger Wilfried Zaha in this summer transfer window. Zaha, left England last summer when he joined the Turkish outfit from Crystal Palace but he has been tipped to return to the Premier League after just a single year away.

The Athletic report that Zaha is the subject of interest from City, but also from boyhood club Palace, who he had left before to join Manchester United before returning to the Eagles – he has made over 450 appearances for the South East London club across those two spells.

The 31-year-old helped Galatasaray win the Turkish Super Lig last season and scored ten goals and fired five assists in all competitions, but he has reportedly fallen down the pecking order this summer and is open to the prospect of returning to England.

Zaha didn’t have more success during his Premier League days as he did when playing Leicester; over the course of 22 appearances against the Foxes down the years, the Ivorian has netted eight goals and bagged three assists against City in those meetings, across top flight and Championship campaigns.

Leicester are likely to be busy in these final three weeks of the transfer window; Bobby De Cordova Reid, Michael Golding, Caleb Okoli and Abdul Fatawu – the latter on a permanent basis after last year’s loan – have all joined, but Steve Cooper is keen to recruit further reinforcements as they prepare to welcome Tottenham for the curtain raiser on Monday week.
