Historic Jayden Daniels Announcement Made Ahead of Commanders-Cowboys Game

The Washington Commanders are officially headed back to the playoffs, just a year after finishing with the second-worst record in the NFL. Much of their success can be attributed to rookie sensation Jayden Daniels, who has exceeded expectations in his first year under center for Dan Quinn’s team.

With a 11-5 record heading into Week 18, the Commanders face the Dallas Cowboys to close out their regular season. Unfortunately, the Philadelphia Eagles have already clinched the NFC East, so the Commanders are locked into the No. 6 seed with a win on Sunday. However, if they lose and the Green Bay Packers win, they would drop to the No. 7 seed.

Despite the uncertainty around playoff seeding, the Commanders’ turnaround from last season is nothing short of remarkable. Daniels was named to his first Pro Bowl on Wednesday, following a historic performance on “Sunday Night Football” against the Falcons.

According to “The 33rd Team” and the Commanders’ PR team, Daniels made NFL history by becoming the first quarterback to record 8+ passing touchdowns and 200+ rushing yards in a two-game span.

His rookie season has been filled with more highs than lows, and securing a playoff spot for the first time since 2020-and potentially leading the Commanders to their first playoff win since 2005-would be a historic moment for both the team and the city of Washington, D.C.

Daniels is firmly on track to win Offensive Rookie of the Year, having put up impressive numbers this season. He has thrown for 3,530 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, and just nine interceptions. On the ground, he has rushed 144 times for 864 yards and six touchdowns.

With the NFL playoffs less than two weeks away, Daniels now has the opportunity to build on his incredible season and carry his team into postseason success.
