The New York Giants’ offseason feels like it has gone surprisingly smoothly. Despite the distractions of the inaugural ‘Hard Knocks: Offseason’, which featured the Giants as their first victim, things have been very much looking up for the 4 x holsters of the Lombardi Trophy.

Rookie 6th overall pick, Malik Nabers, has looked excellent in training camp and preseason; all 5 of New York’s other drafted rookies made the roster alongside Nabers; and the Giants seemed to have at least somewhat sorted their woes on both the offensive and defensive lines, where the additions of Jon Runyan Jr., Jermaine Eluemunor and Brian Burns will likely solidify previously shaky groups.
What’s more, the New York Football Giants may well have uncovered a true gem in the making, as Elijah Chatman, former tryout candidate and undrafted rookie, has made the Giants team and is potentially set for a starting role in their re-jigged defense, with New York having waived defensive lineman, Ryder Anderson earlier in camp.
Cornerback Still A Major Issue For The New York Giants

Unfortunately for the Giants faithful, there is still somewhat of a glaring hole in their roster – one that general manager, Joe Schoen himself rather crassly denoted in episode 2 of Hard Knocks.
Deonte Banks is still working his way into becoming the talent New York expected him to become when they selected him with the 24th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Whereas former 3rd rounder Cor’Dale Flott has yet to demonstrate his bona fide #2 outside corner in the NFL, and rookie 3rd rounder Dru Phillips still very much an unknown going into his debut season.
News reports emerged earlier on Friday concerning the likely possibility of a bringing back a former, once quite lucratively compensated Giant, and it seems, per Ian Rapoport, that it has now come to fruition.
Adoree’ Jackson Once Again Signing With The New York Giants

Adoree’ Jackson was first bought to New York on a 3 year, $39 million contract back in 2021 by former much maligned GM, Dave Gettleman. Although the contract was not necessarily lauded at the time, Jackson did play out the entirety of his contract, even if he did not quite live up to the expectation of a $13 million/year cornerback.
Now, once again back with the Giants, Jackson is re-signing on a stop-gap “prove you still got it” type deal – although at only 28 years old, the former USC standout could well have a good amount of fuel left in the tank.
