Bayanda Walaza: South Africa’s speed prince threatens Letsile Tebogo’s 100m record in Zagreb

 

Bayanda Walaza ran 100m PB of 9.94s into a headwind in Zagreb, becoming the second-fastest African U20 of all-time behind Letsile Tebogo’s 9.91s.

World’s fastest teenager Bayanda Walaza powered to his next level talent by breaking his Personal Best (PB) to win the Continental Tour meet in Zagreb on Saturday, May 24.

 

The reigning World U20 double sprint champion stormed to a huge PB of 9.94s to convincingly win the men’s 100m event in Zagreb, miles ahead of Germany’s Owen Asah in 10.20s, while Sweden’s Henrik Larsson was third in the same time of 10.20s.

 

With his exceptional time, Walaza became the second-fastest African U20 in history behind Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo’s 9.91s.
