Nottingham has learned their lesson; there will be no more high-paid, star players who take it easy.

The biggest revelation of this Premier League season – Nottingham Forest.

.While Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham, and other big clubs (except maybe Liverpool) are experiencing various levels of crisis, the modest club that fought for survival last season is confidently sitting in the Champions League zone.

However, Nuno’s success as manager is not just a phenomenal coincidence, but also a result of a shift in the club’s approach under the new leadership.

Forest have wised up financially: they cleared up the wage bill and stopped signing expensive, lazy players Back in 2022, when Nottingham Forest had just returned to the Premier League, the club spent on 23 (!) new players in one summer – a record number in British football history. Initially, it was 21, but they

The most recent Sports Illustrated First-Round Mock Draft includes two Alabama players.

‏Since 2009, an Alabama player has been chosen in the first round of the NFL draft every year.

On April 24, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, several athletes will try to continue that 16-year run in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Two former Crimson Tide players were selected in the first round of the NFL on SI’s first-round mock draft, which was made public on Tuesday.

According to the writers, linebacker Jihaad Cambell was taken No. 29 by the Washington Commanders, and offensive lineman Tyler Booker was selected 24th overall by the Minnesota Vikings.

SI’s mock draft for the first round did not include quarterback Jalen Milroe.

The head coach of the Vikings has stated that improving the interior offensive line is a top focus for Minnesota this summer, according to John Pluym, NFL editor for Sports Illustrated.

Pluym remarked, “Booker, a 6′ 5″, 325-pound immovable force, is the perfect way to reinforce that line and should also assist boost the play of center Garrett Bradbury.”

According to NFL writer David Harrison, Campbell would fit right in Washington.

“Washington has to look to impact the passing game with this pick,” Harrison stated.

“They can do so by drafting offensive line, secondary, or pass rush help and with Campbell, the Commanders get a versatile defender who can help on all three downs in various ways while eyeing OL and DB help on Day 2 of the draft.”

This week marks the start of the NFL Combine, and additional draft projections on the future of three-star Longhorns have emerged.

One more spoof Ahead of the NFL Combine starting on Thursday, the 2025 NFL Draft has been released, and this one comes directly from On SI. SI contributors predicted that three Texas Longhorns will be selected in the first round come April, out of a program-record 14 who were invited to the Combine.

In his second mock draft of the year, Daniel Jeremiah of NFL Network is the most recent to project Banks to the Windy City.

“The Bears need to devote their offseason to upgrading the group playing in front of Caleb Williams,” Jeremiah stated.

“Banks has the skill set to play tackle or guard.”

In recent weeks, there has been increased interest in the possibility of Banks switching to guard in the NFL. He is capable of doing so, and this season he was named the greatest interior lineman in the country, earning him the Outland Trophy. Banks wasn’t the only Longhorn to be selected in the first round, as is sometimes the case in these mock selections.

The second Texas player off the board in this instance is standout defensive back Jahdae Barron, who is selected by the Cincinnati Bengals at No. 17 overall.

Barron is too amazing to ignore, but I’m sure the Bengals would take a defensive tackle into consideration here

. Additionally, when Cincinnati is on the clock in Round 2, there will still be skilled defensive tackles available.

Despite Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase having stellar seasons, Cincinnati’s defense was nothing short of terrible this season, and it was the primary reason the team missed the playoffs aside from NFL sack leader Trey Hendrickson.

It would greatly benefit the team as a whole to acquire Barron, the nation’s best defensive back and this year’s Jim Thorpe Award winner.

A third Longhorn, typically wide receiver Matthew Golden, is selected in the third round in many mock drafts, but Jeremiah only had two this time.

Still, Steve Sarkisian’s group was well represented.

Distribution of Alabama’s 2025 roster by region

Players from all across the world will be on Alabama’s 2025 roster.

Players come from three different nations and 19 different states.

A number of players from outside the United States have been recruited by Alabama’s coaching staff, who take pleasure in recruiting from coast to coast.

It is crucial that Alabama succeeds in recruiting in many parts of the nation, regardless of what other people may think.

Alabama’s success in the past has come from recruiting players from within the state, outside of it, and sometimes even outside.

Alabama is the state having the most players on its roster as of 2025.

Twenty-two players from Yellowhammer State are on the Tide’s roster.

The teams with the greatest representation on Alabama’s roster outside of Alabama are Florida (6), Texas (8), and California (11).

It’s interesting to note that Alabama has a player from Canada, Finland, and Nigeria—three nations not recognized for producing talented football players.

Overall, the demographic composition of the roster is interesting to see.

Additionally, when the spring transfer gateway window opens, the numbers will climb. However, a lot can be learned about the backgrounds of the players on the team and how they will affect Alabama’s future both on and off the field.

Texas women’s basketball is ranked #1 for the first time in more than 20 years.

Today ended the Texas Longhorns women’s basketball team’s more than 20-year-long stretch of being ranked first in the AP Poll.

With just three games remaining in the regular season, the Longhorns are ranked #1 for the first time since February 16, 2004.

Texas has defeated nine opponents in the Top 25 this season, including a run of victories in February against teams ranked in the Top 10, including No. 2 South Carolina, No. 8 Kentucky, and No. 5 LSU.

South Carolina’s 57-game winning streak in the regular season—one of the longest in sports—was ended by the Longhorns’ victory over the Gamecocks.

During that time, the Moody Center has sold out twice, prompting superstars like Kevin Durant to call out players like Madison Booker who are advocating for Austin to become a WNBA basketball destination.

During the last three games, Booker, a sophomore sensation, has averaged 18.3 points per game, 9.7 rebounds, and made 17 of 19 free throws.

She was the first freshman to win the Big 12 Conference’s Player of the Year honor the previous season, and she came in as ESPN’s No. 12-ranked recruit in the class of 2023.

Before the end of her sophomore year, she became one of only four players in Texas history to surpass 1,000 points in her career.

Following a season-ending injury last year, Rori Harmon returned as a fifth-year senior and was recently included to the watchlists for both the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year and the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year awards.

Eight more points would make her the first player in Texas women’s basketball history to reach 1,200 points and 600 assists.

Under longstanding coach Jody Conradt, that 2004 squad possessed a comparable amount of star power.

It included Tiffany Jackson-Jones, the 2004 national freshman of the year, who was selected by the New York Liberty in the first round of the 2007 WNBA draft.

Additionally, the club included two WNBA third-round selections: Jamie Carey (2005, Phoenix Mercury) and Stacy Stephens (2004, Houston Comets).

After reaching the Final Four the previous year, they lost 71-55 to LSU in the Sweet Sixteen, disappointingly falling short of expectations.

Texas has only advanced to the final four three times, in 1986, 1987, and 2003, and hasn’t taken home a national title since 1986.

But under head coach Vic Schaefer, it has had frequent participation in the NCAA tournament, including three trips to the Elite Eight in 2021, 2022, and 2024—something it hadn’t done since 2016 prior to his hiring.

  • The most recent information about Leeds United’s interest in Rasmus Hojlund, a striker for Manchester United

The most recent information about Leeds United’s interest in Rasmus Hojlund, a striker for Manchester United

Rasmus Hojlund, an attacker for Manchester United, has been linked to a move away from Old Trafford due to his subpar play this season.

The attacker has struggled to establish himself at the club since signing from Atalanta, and his lack of consistency has been connected to his departure.

This season, the striker has only managed to score two Premier League goals, which is a terrible return for a Man United striker.

He arrived to Old Trafford in a big-money move with high expectations.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has disclosed the Danish attacker’s motivations for not joining the Whites, nevertheless.

According to Jacobs, the trade will not take place because Leeds cannot afford to sign the attacker, United is reluctant to sell him, and the attacker is not interested in leaving Man United.

To GiveMeSport, he said: “Despite some rumors, Rasmus Hojlund is not on Leeds’ shortlist, as far as I can tell.

This season, Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee’s subpar play has been a major source of worry at Old Trafford.

Both former boss Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim were unable to bring out the best in the two strikers.

Hojlund may remain with the team, but for financial reasons, the Red Devils are thinking about selling winger Alejandro Garnacho.

  • Where is the top-paid player from ten years ago at Ipswich Town now?

Where is the top-paid player from ten years ago at Ipswich Town now?

Perhaps the most well-known accomplishment of Ipswich Town in the modern era is their incredible achievement of earning consecutive promotions to guarantee their place in the Premier League.

But before their spectacular exploits under Kieran McKenna’s leadership, the Tractor Boys were true Championship mainstays, and in 2019 they were relegated to League One.

One of the Tractor Boys’ most famous second-tier seasons occurred in 2014–15, before McKenna joined the team.

Under the leadership of former manager Mick McCarthy, the Suffolk team secured a play-off position.

Defenders Luke Chambers and Christophe Berra were the Tractor Boys’ joint-highest paid players ten seasons ago, based on Capology estimations.

Both players contributed equally to the success of the 2014–15 season, earning an estimated £10,000 each week, or £520,000 annually.

Despite giving up 54 goals and finishing with a goal differential of +18 from the 72 goals they scored, the Tractor Boys had a comparatively strong defense in the Championship that season. Goal differential ultimately proved to be a crucial component, as McCarthy’s team finished tied with Wolverhampton Wanderers in seventh place on the points.

Chambers and Berra, two former Tractor Boys defenders who are 39 and 40 years old, respectively, have also hung up their boots.

After initially joining Ipswich from Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2012, Chambers will always be known as a veteran who played for the team for an incredible nine seasons.

After joining Colchester United before the 2021–2022 season, he played for the League Two team for two seasons before declaring his retirement in August 2023 at the age of 37.

Chambers will be most remembered for his time with the Tractor Boys, when he made an amazing 396 appearances over an unprecedented nine-season spell, even though he also played for teams like Northampton Town, Forest, and Colchester.

In appreciation of his accomplishments while playing in the Championship, League One, and League Two, Chambers received the Sir Tom Finney Award at the 2024 EFL Awards.

After playing for Hearts and Raith Rovers in his home country of Scotland, Berra, who played for the Tractor Boys for four seasons from 2013–14–2016–17, retired from competition in 2022.

The former center-half joined Rovers as a coach right away after retiring, and by January 2023, he was hired as Livingston’s first team coach to work with David Martindale.

However, he left the then-Scottish Premiership team at the end of the 2022–2023 season before spending some time as the interim coach of Huntsville City, an Alabama-based MLS Next Pro team.

  • Emmanuel Agbadou, an Ivory Coast defender, joins Wolves from Reims.

Emmanuel Agbadou, an Ivory Coast defender, joins Wolves from Reims.

On Thursday, Wolves announced that they had signed Ivory Coast defender Emmanuel Agbadou from Reims for £16.6 million ($20.3 million), their first acquisition under new manager Vitor Pereira.

With an option for a one-year extension, the 27-year-old defender has committed to a four-and-a-half-year deal at Molineux. Before to Reims, Agbadou played for Eupen in the Belgian Pro League after starting his career at Monastir in Tunisia.

He has spent the last two and a half seasons with the Ligue 1 team, and this season he is the team’s captain.

In addition to being a strong player, I enjoy playing football and lead the defense. The coach informed me of this as well, so I’m here to assist him with my leadership, he said. “I believe I can use this leadership for this team,” he said.

The new recruit was hailed by Sporting director Matt Hobbs, who said, “Emmanuel is a winner and he’s driven.” Even after his adventure, he still feels incredibly hungry.

You’re going to get all he has, which is why Wolves supporters should like him as a player.

After Gary O’Neil was fired last month, Pereira was appointed manager.

Following a 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest on Monday, the squad is now above the Premier League relegation zone on goal differential.

Brazil’s football powerhouses offer to loan players after the Chapecoense plane crash

Following the deaths of the majority of their squad in a plane crash, three of Brazil’s top clubs have said that they will provide players to Chapecoense.

On their way to Medellin, Colombia, Chapecoense administrators and players perished in a plane disaster.

They traveled to play in the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana final, and their opponents, Atletico Nacional, have requested that Chapecoense be given the cup.

The clubs who have given assistance are Flamengo, Palmeiras, and Sao Paulo.

Six-time national champions Sao Paulo also stated that Chapecoense should be spared demotion to the second division of Brazilian football for the upcoming three seasons while they work to restore the team.

According to a statement from Fox Sports Latin America, the crash claimed the lives of six workers from its Brazil division.

Both Nottingham Forest and Liverpool offered to loan players to Manchester United following the 1958 Munich plane disaster, while Bishop Auckland, a non-league team, had players on the Red Devils roster.
