Lakers Reveal LeBron James Official Injury Report Status vs 76ers

LeBron James remains on the Lakers’ injury report against the 76ers.

Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James (23) dunks the ball against the Philadelphia 76ers during the second quarter at Wells Fargo Center.

Gearing up for their Tuesday night matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers, the Philadelphia 76ers have been monitoring the availability of the star forward, LeBron James.

Throughout the year, LeBron has had frequent appearances on the injury report. According to the official NBA injury report, LeBron continues managing a left foot injury.

The Lakers don’t seem too worried about a potential absence for the former MVP, though. With their initial injury report submitted, the Lakers have LeBron listed as probable for the matchup.

The chances of him getting the nod to play against the Sixers seem high.

On Monday night, the Lakers fired up a back-to-back set, continuing a road trip. After picking up a double-digit victory on the road against the Golden State Warriors, the Lakers paid a visit to the Charlotte Hornets.

LeBron James checked in for 36 minutes in the matchup. Although he struggled with his shot from three, going just 1-8 from beyond the arc, the veteran forward shot over 50 percent from the field to notch 22 points.

Along with his scoring, James accounted for seven rebounds and eight assists.

If the Lakers change course and give LeBron the night off, it would mark his first absence since December 28. LA doesn’t seem to have a possible absence in mind at this time.

Earlier this season, the Sixers visited the Lakers on their West Coast run. LeBron saw the court for 34 minutes in that game. He produced 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 13 assists.

At the time, the Lakers took advantage of a slow start for the Sixers, issuing them a 10-point loss.

The Sixers have a two-game win streak at the moment, but they remain shorthanded and outside of the NBA Play-In picture before their meeting with the Lakers.

As for LA, they have four wins in a row to show for, and hope to close out their current back-to-back set with five. At 26-18 on the season, the Lakers place fifth in the Western Conference. They trail the Denver Nuggets by one game.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott throws a pass against the Atlanta Falcons during the second half at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Let’s get to it, the Dallas Cowboys ushered in a new era Monday as Brian Schottenheimer was formally introduced as head coach during a press conference at The Star in Frisco.

Schottenheimer was appointed as the tenth head coach in franchise history on Friday, succeeding Mike McCarthy who led the team from 2020 to 2024, and departed with a 49-35 record during his five-season tenure at the helm.

After serving as Dallas’s offensive coordinator since 2023, Schottenheimer now takes control following the team’s disappointing 7-10 season.

The 51-year-old first time head coach’s intimate knowledge of the Cowboys’ offense—which he orchestrated for the past two seasons—positions him uniquely to lead the franchise’s turnaround effort.

While a head coach’s vision shapes a team’s direction, its success ultimately hinges on quarterback performance—a reality Schottenheimer will face as he takes the helm of one of the NFL’s most storied franchises.

Luckily for Dallas, Dak Prescott has fostered a strong partnership with Schottenheimer since the latter’s arrival in 2022, and their collaborative relationship is one area the organization is leaning on in the Cowboys’ pursuit of a championship.

Schottenheimer’s confidence in Prescott’s leadership and support for his quarterback will be a cornerstone of their strategy moving forward.

“He’s gonna play elite level football,” Schottenheimer said during his introductory press conference . “He’s gonna lead us to championships. We got the right guy. We’re gonna win. We’re gonna win a championship.”

For a team that hasn’t won a Super Bowl since 1995, Schottenheimer’s confidence in his quarterback provides a glimpse into how he plans to break that streak: by building around the proven partnership between coach and quarterback that’s already shown promise before.

Badgers make Top 4 for 2026 4-star safety Kaden Gebhart along with Ohio State, Clemson, Penn State

The Wisconsin Badgers made a number of changes to their staff in the offseason, adding four assistants to new roles: offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes, wide receivers coach Jordan Reid, quarterbacks coach Kenny Guiton (formerly the wide receivers coach), and safeties coach Jonathan Cooper (formerly a senior defensive assistant).

All four assistants have been hitting the recruiting trail hard since joining their new roles, as Wisconsin looks to shape its 2026 recruiting class, having hosted their first junior day this past weekend.

Well, one of their top targets, four-star safety Kaden Gebhart, recently listed the Badgers in his Top 4 alongside the Clemson Tigers, Penn State Nittany Lions, and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Gebhart, an Ohio native, has been one of the most recruited safeties in the 2026 class, landing 30 scholarship offers, including from the likes of Oklahoma, USC, Nebraska, Missouri, and Ole Miss, among others.

The Badgers were in a similar position for a four-star safety in the 2025 class, as they had initially landed a commitment from Ohio native Cody Haddad after their Junior Day last January. However, after continued interest from the Buckeyes, Haddad flipped his stance and is now signed with Ohio State.

Here, they’ll look to fend off three top powers for four-star safety Kaden Gebhart, as the Badgers were the first major team to offer the Ohio native back in February of last year.

But, Gebhart will have a different lead recruiter now, as former safeties coach Alex Grinch is now the defensive coordinator at UCF, which means Jonathan Cooper will take over in that role now.

Will the Badgers be able to close down the stretch here? Or will they potentially fall short of another Big Ten team in the chase for a top four-star in the country?

About time’ – Caitlin Clark joins LeBron James as Nike reward WNBA star

The shoe-giant announced that they will release a signature shoe and logo for the 22-year-old and the plans behind it are breath-taking.

In an interview with fortune, Nike CEO Elliot Hill revealed that Clark was at their headquarters just a few weeks ago in order to fine tune the designs for her signature shoe.

“We had Caitlin Clark today,” Hill told Fortune. “We’re working on her signature shoe that will launch, and we’re working on her logo and that design.”

The WNBA star was sponsored by Nike throughout her college career but in April 2024 penned, a spectacular 8-year $28 million deal with the shoe giants.

Sweeping up Clark was a no-brainer for the Oregan-based sports company, the No.1 overall pick in 2024 has enjoyed a meteoric rise to stardom.

The 22-year-old was named Time’s Athlete of the Year for 2024 after a stellar debut season in the WNBA.

Records around attendance, viewership and revenue all sky-rocketed for the WNBA in 2024 and much of it can be traced back to the arrival of stars like Angel Reese and Clark.

Hill also explained that Nike dedicated women’s basketball team within the company are aiding the expansion into that market within women’s sport.

“Having a small team that’s focused on women’s basketball, it unlocked, we believe, opportunities for the game of basketball and also in product,” the CEO said.

“It becomes an opportunity to grow the overall marketplace by inviting more and more girls into the world of sports. It is an area we’ll continue to invest in with tremendous momentum right now.”

Clark is one of three WNBA players that have a signature shoe deal with Nike, with New York Liberty’s Sabrina Ionescu and the Las Vegas Aces’ 3-time MVP A’ja Wilson the other two.

Clark enjoyed a stellar debut season, picking up the Rookie of the Year award

Ionescu’s first signature shoe was released in September 2023 and her second shoe debuted in June 2024, while Wilson’s shoe – will come out in 2025, eight years after she was drafted in 2018.

Unique to Clark though, will be the fact that she becomes the first women’s basketball player to have their own logo with Nike, a unique feat that is only reserved for the very best talent in the game.

It means Clark will join the likes of LeBron James and Kevin Durant as players with specific emblems, Nike hope this will serve to enhance her image globally and a way to release more specific merchandise around the star.

Since her NIL deal back in 2020, the WNBA star currently wears Nike KOBE sneakers as she awaits her own shoe.

Throughout her rookie season Nike have released colourways and player-exclusive styles that paid tribute to the 22-year-old.

Fans have reacted to Nike’s announcement, with a mix of responses as some feel a shoe should have already been released.

Breanna Stewart claims Caitlin Clark can NEVER be a WNBA legend unless she wins a Championship

“Caitlin Clark finally getting her shoe in 2026? About time, this should have been a Christmas 2024 release. The ball was massively dropped. This is finally some welcome news though,” one posted on X.

“People have been questioning Nike way too much. They were there for Jordan, they know this is just getting started. Getting the Caitlin Clark launch right is must,” another fan posted.

The WNBA season returns on May 16 and Clark is scheduled to play in a blockbuster clash on the opening weekend, when the Fever take on Angel Reese’s Chicago Sky.

Sheffield Wednesday have reportedly submitted an offer to sign Ipswich Town defender Harry Clarke on loan until the end of the season.

The Sheffield Star, who first revealed the Owls’ interest earlier this month, have claimed that there has been a formal approach, with less than a week to go until the end of the January transfer window.

However, it’s believed that other Championship sides are also keen on signing the 23-year-old, who has made four starts and three cameo appearances in the Premier League this season.

Town boss Kieran McKenna confirmed that Clarke might be allowed to leave on loan this month, with extra competition following the arrival of Ben Godfrey from Atalanta. Axel Tuanzebe is also fit again, while Ben Johnson can cover right-back and right wing-back.

If Clarke departs this month, it would free up space in the squad for the Blues to sign new players, with Sky Sports claiming that a striker, a winger and a midfielder could be targeted following the arrivals of Godfrey (Atalanta, loan), Jaden Philogene (Aston Villa, £20m + add-ons) and Julio Enciso (Brighton, loan).

Winger Wes Burns could be de-registered if his knee injury is expected to rule him out for the rest of the campaign. George Edmundson (Middlesbrough, £600k) and Ali Al-Hamadi (Stoke City, loan) have both departed.

Sheffield Wednesday currently occupy 10th place in the Championship table, sitting just three points behind the play-off places. Danny Rohl’s side have had a quiet transfer window so far, but are looking to strengthen in the coming days.

Lawrence has endured an injury-hit season in Scotland, but did recently return to the bench for a clash with Dundee United.

Rangers signed Lawrence from Derby County in 2022, bringing an end to his five-year stay at Pride Park.

He had previously spent the bulk of his career in the loan system, with opportunities at Manchester United and Leicester City having proven limited.

Two Georgia Stars Make Unexpected Senior Bowl Decision on Monday

A pair of Georgia Bulldogs will miss the Reese’s Senior Bowl after pulling out of the event on Monday.

The NFL draft showcase, made up of some of the top prospects in the class, takes place annually in Mobile, Alabama. Players participate in interviews and on-field practices before a game between the National Team and American Team takes place at the end of the week.

According to Senior Bowl executive director and former NFL scout Jim Nagy, Georgia offensive linemen Tate Ratledge and Jared Wilson have pulled out of the event. Additional details were not shared by Nagy, but both players were missing from the official rosters on Monday.

Ratledge served as an anchor on the Bulldogs’ offensive line for the last three seasons, including the national championship season in 2022. The 6-foot-6, 320-pound guard earned AFCA First-Team All-America honors as a senior in 2024.

Ratledge suffered an ankle injury in September that caused him to miss four games while recovering from surgery. He returned, albeit limited, for the Bulldogs’ SEC championship run and College Football Playoff appearance.

Wilson started at center for Georgia for one season after waiting behind future draft pick Sedrick Van Pran-Granger (Buffalo Bills). The 6-foot-3, 310-pound bruiser missed two regular season games due to a foot injury.

According to ESPN draft analyst Matt Miller, the Coaches Second-Team All-SEC selection is “dealing with the effects of a long season and will prep for the combine.”

Both Bulldogs are among the highest-rated players at their positions, with Ratledge coming in as ESPN’s No. 4 ranked guard and Wilson ranked as the No. 2 center.

  • The Verdict on who stands trial after Leeds and Burnley crime against football

The Verdict on who stands trial after Leeds and Burnley crime against football

It takes two to tango. Farke could have gone with a more offensive line-up. He could have brought in Junior Firpo for Sam Byram and kept forward-thinking Joe Rothwell in the midfield rather than defensive specialist Ilia Gruev.

Leeds were untidy in the final third and definitely played safe at times, so the monotony that played out was a crime of joint enterprise but even that one, late Daniel James shot that finally forced Trafford into action presented an argument that Parker was the ringleader and most culpable for the Championship’s big game being such a big disappointment.

How do Burnley fans get to sleep at night? They watch Burnley. Speak to Turf Moor regulars and they will tell you that the atmosphere is largely flat and the lack of goals and chances make for a hard watch. Leeds fans have, justifiably, complained about the entertainment factor at times this season but Elland Road has seen twice as many home league wins as Turf Moor. The Whites have scored 35 at home compared with Burnley’s 15.

The problem is that Parker’s football works. It strangles a game so completely that opposition sides simply cannot score goals. And then even when they do get gilt-edged chances, like Sunderland did with a pair of spot-kicks, Trafford is there with heroics.

There is, with all due respect, a lot of dross in the division and Parker knows that if Burnley don’t nick a win at home then they’ll draw because they so effectively shut down opposition offences. Who can really complain about being unbeaten at home, third in the table and just three points off the top at this stage?

The other problem is that football has been allowed to become so results-focused and promotion from the Championship has become so financially significant that an entire season and a year in the life of a supporter can now be explained away under the phrase ‘getting the job done.’ It’s a very transactional thing. Strictly business. Get the points, get out of the league.

Function over fun. It’s not Parker or Farke’s fault that a relegated club faces a race against time to scramble back up the ladder before the parachute payments run out.

It’s not their fault that managers are judged so brutally and almost entirely on results. Taking risks in possession might give the rest of us a bit of a thrill, but when it’s their livelihood hanging in the balance and when you can play safe and still sit up near the top then can anyone be blamed for setting up to be solid?

That’s what Parker did, as expected with his Burnley team. Farke did too but at least Leeds had a little go. After a nervy couple of minutes in which Ethan Ampadu was uncharacteristically wayward with passes to the wings, Leeds began to look the more dangerous. Or maybe the more willing to attack. Jayden Bogle was one of few players on the pitch with a bit of urgency and adventure about him and he was at the heart of anything promising the visitors offered up.

Burnley’s best and only real moment came when ex-Leeds men Connor Roberts and Jaidon Anthony linked up so the latter could cross, with Zian Flemming heading wide.

The game settled into a bit of a pattern. Leeds had more of the ball but did little with it. Burnley mustered a few crosses. A minute of additional time at the end of the first half was more of a cruelty to the paying public than an opportunity for either side to give them something worth watching.

Farke said prior to the game that he prefers being top and being chased to having to do the chasing. The second half said that Burnley were content to sit back and do precisely no chasing.

Leeds were in control and giving an impression, if nothing else, that they wanted to win it. They just didn’t go gung-ho, because that was not and is never really Farke’s plan. The Clarets did eventually give Illan Meslier something to do in the 68th minute but his smart leg save from Anthony’s drilled effort didn’t count because the attacker had nudged last man Joe Rodon to concede a free-kick.

Leeds registered a shot that did actually count in the 88th minute and it very nearly pinched the points. Gruev’s corner came all the way through to James and he uncorked a beautifully-struck half volley that Trafford did well to palm over.

Farke was happy with a point. Parker was happy with a point. The Leeds fans gave their side a rousing ovation at full-time, suggesting they too were happy with a point.

A Burnley fan near the press box exploded with rage at the sight of it. “Think you’ve ****ing won something?” he spat in the direction of the travelling fans on the far side of the ground. No one won anything, there were no winners here. And that gentleman, like his fellow Clarets, has been sentenced to watch more of this from now until the end of the season.

Leeds might not find themselves in many genuine thrillers but you would at least back them to score more goals than Burnley. Both sides will be right there in the promotion picture come May and perhaps both will celebrate the great escape back to the Premier League. And no one will feel the least bit guilty about how they got there because the job got done.

Ipswich Town could look to strengthen their attack in the final days of the January transfer window

Ipswich Town could look to strengthen their attack in the final days of the January transfer window

Ipswich Town have been busy in the January transfer window, but with a couple of gaps in their squad, they may still be active between now and next Monday’s deadline. Alex Jones takes a look at some of the unanswered questions.

Kieran McKenna’s side have signed three players so far this month

Kieran McKenna’s side have signed three players so far this month

Ipswich have made three signings. Ben Godfrey was the first through the door, joining on loan from Serie A side Atalanta. He was followed by Jaden Philogene, who was signed from Aston Villa for a fee of £20 million plus add-ons. Most recently, Julio Enciso has been brought in on loan from Brighton.

The arrival of Enciso means that Town can’t sign another player on loan from a fellow Premier League club, as they are at the limit of two domestic loanees with Kalvin Phillips spending the campaign at Portman Road from Manchester City.

The limit on international loans, however, is six. That leaves four slots available, with two taken up by Godfrey and Napoli’s Jens Cajuste.

George Edmundson was briefly recalled from his loan spell at Middlesbrough, but the Championship side paid the required transfer fee to take him on permanently. Striker Ali Al-Hamadi, who did count towards the 25-man squad, will spend the rest of the campaign on loan at Stoke City.

As things stand, the Blues could have some flexibility. With Chiedozie Ogbene [Achilles] out for the season, the expectation is that he will be de-registered, taking the total down to the 25-man limit. If Wes Burns [knee] is in a similar position, the squad could be cut to 24.

Liam Delap is one of two out-and-out strikers in Town’s first-team squad

Liam Delap is one of two out-and-out strikers in Town’s first-team squad

The number one priority heading into the final week of the transfer window will be a striker.

Earlier this month, manager Kieran McKenna stressed that the plan would be to allow Al-Hamadi to leave if they could sign another striker, which he described as ‘a big if’. The Iraq international, as mentioned, has now gone out on loan. It leaves McKenna with two out-and-out no.9’s, having previously said that he wants three.

Since then, he’s admitted that Town could progress with just two natural strikers, using other players – like Sammie Szmodics and Nathan Broadhead – to cover the position behind Liam Delap and George Hirst. Of course, in an ideal world, they will look to sign another player, but McKenna has admitted that it’s a hard role to fill.

Links have been scarce. Ipswich launched a late bid to sign Middlesbrough striker Emmanuel Latte Lath on deadline day over the summer, but that was rejected.

It remains to be seen whether or not he is a target this month, but he’s reportedly closing in on a $22 million move to Major League Soccer outfit Atlanta United, assuming that the injury he suffered in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Preston North End isn’t serious.

Expect some transfer rumours to appear in the next few days, but remember that they can’t sign any more players on loan from other Premier League clubs.

Wes Burns could be set for an extended spell on the sidelines with a knee injury

    What happens with Wes?

The 4-1 defeat at Liverpool, unfortunately, creates another dilemma for Ipswich as we near the end of the month.

Wes Burns suffered what looked like a serious knee injury at the start of the game. He was seen on crutches and with a leg brace on as he left Anfield, and there are fears that his season will be over if he’s suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament [ACL] tear.

McKenna was unable to provide a full update after the match on Saturday, but admitted that it doesn’t look good. If he doesn’t feature again this season, Town may need to look at a replacement.

Burns is a unique player, one who can cover the right flank and a deeper wing-back role. Omari Hutchinson can do the former while Ben Johnson can do the latter. Philogene and Enciso can probably cover that side, as can Sammie Szmodics, who’s currently sidelined with an ankle injury.

The Blues are well stocked on the left wing, but the right side is lacking depth. It wasn’t a huge surprise to learn that they launched a £16 million bid for Liverpool winger Ben Doak, who’s currently on loan at Middlesbrough, earlier this month.

They never made another offer for him, Boro boss Michael Carrick revealed that the window for the Reds to recall him has since passed. He won’t be coming to Portman Road this season.

That isn’t to say that Ipswich won’t sign another right-sided player, but they won’t have long to decide whether or not to do it. Perhaps someone who can play on the right flank and cover up front would allow them to kill two birds with one stone, although it wouldn’t be an easy deal to do.

Glen Kamara has been linked with a move to Portman Road

Glen Kamara has been linked with a move to Portman Road

Could Town look at any other positions to strengthen this month? It’s very unlikely.

The defence is well-stocked, as are the other forward positions that I haven’t already mentioned. That leaves the central midfield area, which could cause a debate.

Jens Cajuste has been excellent, but his fitness could be an issue. He missed the defeat at Anfield and has struggled with knee problems for quite some time. Phillips and captain Sam Morsy are clearly excellent players, but perhaps lack some key attributes that Town would like to have in midfield.

There have been some links from France. Glen Kamara, formerly of Leeds United and now at Rennes, is one of them. Ex-Chelsea and Manchester United destroyer Nemanja Matic, now at Lyon, is another. We understand that Ipswich are unlikely to make a move for either this month.

Harry Clarke could be allowed to leave on loan in the next few days

Harry Clarke could be allowed to leave on loan in the next few days

If both Ogbene and Burns are de-registered, Town can sign one player over the age of 21 to take them to the 25-man limit without anyone leaving. If they want to sign two players over the age of 21, someone will have to leave.

Right-back Harry Clarke is apparently a target for Championship side Sheffield Wednesday, with McKenna confirming that a loan departure was certainly possible following the arrival of Godfrey. There could still be other sides keen on taking him on in the coming days.

Luke Woolfenden has been linked with Sheffield United and Inter Miami. As an academy graduate, he’s particularly valuable for Ipswich. If he did leave this month, the transfer fee would count as pure profit when it comes to Financial Fair Play (FFP).

However, an exit seems unlikely. He captained Town in the FA Cup at the start of the month, and while he hasn’t featured since then, he offers important cover to Dara O’Shea.

Jack Clarke has struggled to adapt to life in Suffolk after joining from Sunderland in August and faces stiff competition for a spot in the starting lineup. That being said, if he was to leave, he could only join the Black Cats, having played for two teams already this season.

The Blues considered selling Broadhead at the latter stages of the summer transfer window and his future was up in the air heading into January, but his impressive form in the last few games would suggest that he’s going nowhere.

    It’s a tough balancing act.

Mark Ashton has always been adamant that Town will be ambitious in the January transfer window

Mark Ashton has always been adamant that Town will be ambitious in the January transfer window

Ipswich have done incredibly well so far this month. Signing Philogene for such a big fee is certainly a statement, while Enciso looks exciting and Godfrey covers an important area in the squad. They will all play a big part in the second half of the season.

The striker situation is a concern. Fans are worried about a repeat of the summer deadline day, where Town eventually pulled out of a deal to sign injury-prone Chelsea man Armando Broja on loan. In hindsight, that was a smart move, given that he joined Everton and has hardly kicked a ball, with a return to his parent club looking likely after suffering another knock.

However, the Blues were light in attack due to Hirst’s injury, leaving Delap and Al-Hamadi as the only fit options during the festive period. With Al-Hamadi gone and Hirst proving to be somewhat unreliable in terms of his fitness, extra cover feels imperative.

Burns’ injury creates a big headache for McKenna and Mark Ashton. You’d imagine that they’d want to sign a replacement if the funds are available.

Desire can turn into desperation for any team at the end of any transfer window, so there’s every chance we see some incomings and outgoings soon. Nobody wants to be left high and dry in the second half of the season, which could result in some big offers.

Palace wary of Man Utd bid for Glasner favourite and could move for £20m talent

Crystal Palace travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United this Sunday.

The Eagles could move back ahead of the Red Devils in the Premier League with a victory – having slipped down to 13th after losing to Brentford and Manchester United winning at Fulham.

In the meantime – however – Crystal Palace and Manchester United could be involved in some transfer business as we approach the February 3rd deadline, with Tyrick Mitchell and El Hadji Malick Diouf in the spotlight.

A story from The Sun now states that Crystal Palace are wary of Manchester United submitting a bid for the England international.

Manchester United are trying to sign Patrick Dorgu from Lecce as Ruben Amorim aims to find a new left wing-back this winter, although the Red Devils are yet to agree a fee with the Serie A side, despite verbally agreeing terms with the Denmark international himself.

As a result, The Sun believe Crystal Palace are fearful of Manchester United moving for Mitchell instead, who has started all 23 Premier League games under Oliver Glasner so far this season.

ESPN add that Manchester United have already asked about Mitchell, and Wolves No.3 Rayan Ait-Nouri, in case a move for Dorgu collapses.

Crystal Palace could decide to make new El Hadji Malick Diouf move as a result

The Sun add that Manchester United’s interest in Mitchell could spark a new bid for Slavia Prague No.12 El Hadji Malick Diouf, who is valued at £20m.

Crystal Palace have already seen a £12.5m bid rejected for the Senegal international as Glasner searches for a more attack-minded player down the left.

The Sun add that Brighton are now speaking to Slavia Prague about Diouf – who wants regular playing time – another reason why Crystal Palace could submit a new bid.
