Ipswich Town’s Jaden Philogene celebrates with Jacob Greaves and Leif Davis after scoring their second goal
George Hirst’s stats for Ipswich Town
Wes Burns has suffered a minor setback to his return after suffering a gash to his leg whilst featuring for the U21’s so he won’t be in the squad for Wednesday.
Sammie Szmodics returned against Coventry City and will likely feature off the bench again as he regains match fitness. Goalkeeper Alex Palmer also makes a return after he was sidelined with a calf injury.
Walton; Furlong, O’Shea, Kipre, Davis; Taylor, Matusiwa; Egeli, Nunez, Philogene; Azon
With ITFC in great form, it is unlikely that McKenna will change his team, except for the suspended Hirst. Christian Walton keeps his place in goal with a back line of Darnell Furlong, Dara O’Shea, Cedric Kipre and Leif Davis in front of him.
Just in front of the defence, Jack Taylor will partner Azor Matusiwa. The attacking midfielders will remain Sindre Walle Egeli, Marcelino Nunez, and Jaden Philogene. McKenna could opt to change his side around in these positions, but their performances against Coventry City make it a tough call.
ITFC – Ipswich Town’s Jaden Philogene with the match ball at the end of the match after completing a hat-trick
Up front, the Tractor Boys’ head coach will opt for Ivan Azon to lead the line. Chuba Akpom hasn’t had the most fruitful spell whilst on loan at Portman Road, and Azon will be eager to go back-to-back games scoring goals.
