Oh, how deadline day can surprise us. It would have shocked many to see Manor Solomon rejoin Leeds United after he chose to try his luck back at Tottenham at the start of the summer.
Solomon felt as though his 23 goals and assists at Leeds, and his title-winning goal, might have seen him get a chance with Spurs. But injury in pre-season has not helped and now, Solomon is likely to move.
In the days prior to deadline day, Solomon was reportedly searching for a Premier League club. Leeds are said to have looked at Solomon after failing to get Facundo Buonanotte, but decided against a reunion.
That was supposedly that for Solomon, and he was expected to remain at Tottenham. But new reports have emerged just five hours ahead of the deadline, and it is that Crystal Palace have entered the picture.

In a move that could see Leeds left with egg on their face and Solomon feeling as though he has got one over Daniel Farke’s side, The Mail claim on their deadline day blog (01/09, 1pm) that Palace are in talks.
In what comes as a surprise given Solomon was expected to stay at Spurs and Leeds had chosen not to re-sign the former Fulham man, Palace are now in talks with Spurs after Daniel Levy initially said no.
Manor Solomon in action for Leeds.
Oliver Glasner’s side are desperate for reinforcements ahead of their Conference League campaign and Solomon could now join initially on loan, with the option to buy. Solomon is rated in the £20m region.
Which other clubs have been linked with Manor Solomon?
A busy day for Solomon then. Reports in Solomon’s home country claim that the Tottenham winger chose to reject French giants Lyon as he wanted to remain in England. Nottingham Forest and Villa were keen.
But Forest have signed Dilane Bakwa, while Villa look set to land Jadon Sancho and Harvey Elliott from Manchester United and Liverpool. Leicester were also linked with Solomon, but Palace are now pushing.
The chances are that the pocket-sized attacker won’t start for Glasner’s side, but with Palace in Europe, there will be plenty of game time for Solomon. Thomas Frank is keen not to lose too much firepower.
