Football season as a whole is almost over as the college games are officially over, and there is just one game left in the NFL, the Super Bowl. The stage is set for the Kansas City Chiefs to take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59, which just so happens to be a rematch of Super Bowl 27, which the Chiefs prevailed in.

After that Super Bowl 57 win, former Indiana linebacker Cam Jones joined the reigning champs as he signed with the Chiefs after the 2023 NFL Draft as an undrafted free agent. Jones has been with the Chiefs ever since and even received a Super Bowl ring last season when the Chiefs won their second straight Super Bowl, that one coming against the San Fransisco 49ers.

Jones saw the field more than he probably expected to last season due to injuries in the linebacker room, and that was the reason he got his Super Bowl ring. Jones appeared in 17 games for the Chiefs last season and in 17 games this season as well.

The other former Hoosier who will get his first shot at getting a Super Bowl ring is tight end Peyton Hendershot, who joined the Chiefs in the offseason after two years with the Dallas Cowboys. Hendershot has been in the mix with a great tight end group in Kansas City led by future Hall of Famer Travis Kelce. The Chiefs used a lot of tight ends this season, especially when their wide receiver core ran thin. Hendershot has five catches fro 51 yards this season.

Hendershot played at Indiana from 2017 to 2021 and left the Hoosiers as the all-time leader in receptions with 136 and receiving yards with 1,479 for tight ends. He also was not taken in the NFL Draft and signed with the Cowboys before landing in Kansas City.

Jones was with the Hoosiers from 2018 to 2022 as a three-time captain in his five seasons at Indiana. He totaled 208 tackles and 13.5 tackles for a loss as Hoosier. The Indiana Hoosiers may not have a lot of representation in the Super Bowl, but having two former players is enough.

The Super Bowl is set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. EST in Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
