Following a disappointing defeat against Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League, Manchester United have won back-to-back games against Rangers and Fulham in two different competitions.
The Red Devils were promising vs the Scottish team but were average against the Cottagers last night. Thankfully, they won the match courtesy of Lisandro Martinez’s solitary goal.
Following the result, they have climbed up to the 12th spot in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Man Utd have been exploring the possibility of signing a few new players in this winter window to help Ruben Amorim rebuild the squad.
Lecce star Patrick Dorgu is on their radar, moreover, Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku is on Amorim’s wish-list as well.
Caught Offside claim that Man Utd are keen on strengthening the frontline before next week’s deadline following Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund’s underwhelming displays thus far this season.
Nkunku was close to joining Bayern Munich but that deal has fallen through so he is now open to agreeing on a deal to join Man Utd.
The Old Trafford outfit are looking to include Alejandro Garnacho in this deal to lower the price and the Blues are interested in securing the South American’s service.
Chelsea want £70m for Nkunku and they are open to letting him leave on a loan deal in this window with an obligation to make the move permanent next summer.
After joining the West London club from RB Leipzig, Nkunku initially struggled with injury problems and now he has found himself out of favour under Enzo Maresca. Hence, he wants to leave to play regularly.
The 27-year-old is comfortable playing in the CAM role as well as the CF position. He is a talented player but his injury record is concerning, therefore, having already signed an injury-prone player like Mason Mount from the Blues, United shouldn’t make the same mistake once again.
What do you think, should Amorim’s side hire Nkunku for Man Utd before the deadline?
