After Manchester City’s 6-0 Premier League victory over Ipswich Town on Sunday, manager Pep Guardiola declared his squad was back to their former glory.
The champions’ victory puts them in the top four on the table. Erling Haaland also got on the scoresheet, and Phil Foden scored his second brace of the week and assisted on another goal
With a much-needed victory, City climbed up to fourth place with 38 points.
We are thrilled to be returning to the activities that have characterized this team over the past ten years. After the game, Guardiola told Sky Sports, “I’m really happy with the three points and to get into the Champions League for next season.”
Guardiola was pleased with his team’s performance at Portman Road following a few lackluster displays over the holiday season.
“Much better, perhaps not our greatest, but closer given our level of game consistency. “Everyone is related, and everyone with the ball was shrewd and faster.
“If you are not connected defensively, you cannot be quick, wise, and good,” Guardiola stated.
