Leicester City ‘ready to make official offer’ – Foxes won’t be messed around

Shortly after Steven Bergwijn returned to the Netherlands with Ajax, he began to be connected to a return to the Premier League, and De Telegraaf is reporting today that Leicester City is making an attempt to sign him. With high expectations for himself, Bergwijn relocated to Tottenham Hotspur in 2020 from PSV, where he was a huge star. Although it wasn’t a total bust, the transfer to the Spurs didn’t go as well as many had anticipated.

Subsequently, Tottenham was granted the chance to receive over €30 million back when Ajax made the decision to overspend, even by Eredivisie norms. It’s nearly hard to find value for money when moving for such a large sum to Dutch football, and although the 26-year-old has performed admirably, he hasn’t reached record transfer levels of excellence.

All the assertions have been supported by this, and a comeback to English football may be imminent. According to the Telegraaf, Leicester City is hoping to pay about €20 million to recruit the attacker. The Foxes are “ready to make an official offer,” but De Telegraaf makes it quite evident that Leicester City will back out if Ajax tries to demand an excessive price. Interpreting the details implicitly, it seems thatbe coming from the player’s camp
