The college football regular season came to an end after a wild Week 14. As such, several programs are right on the outside of the College Football Playoff.
One of those teams is the Ole Miss Rebels. After Tuesday’s rankings, Ole Miss is at No. 13 in the latest rankings, and it is looking unlikely that they will get into the field.
However, Ole Miss got some good news regarding quarterback Jaxson Dart, who played his final home game in Oxford against Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl on Friday.
On Tuesday, Ole Miss announced that Dart was named as the Conerly Trophy Winner.
The Conerly Trophy Award is given to the top college football player in the state of Mississippi. The other finalists were Jackson State running back Irv Mulligan and Mississippi State safety Isaac Smith.
Dart was also a finalist for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, an annual recognition of top senior/upperclassmen quarterback. Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders won the award.

It was a terrific season for Dart, who finished 2024 with 3,875 passing yards, 25 touchdowns and just six interceptions.
This was Dart’s third season at Ole Miss after spending one year with USC before transferring to join Lane Kiffin’s program.
At the end of his Ole Miss career, he is the program leader in total offense and passing yards. In the Egg Bowl win in Week 14, Dart threw for 143 yards, topping Eli Manning’s previous career passing yards record of 10,119.
Dart now has 10,213 yards, etching his name into the Ole Miss history books. Dart also is the winningest quarterback in Ole Miss program history and he set the record for most total offense in a single game by an Ole Miss player in Week 10 against Arkansas.
In that game, Dart had 515 yards passing with 47 rushing yards in the 63-31 blowout on the road.
While Ole Miss will wait and see where they are headed for bowl season, Dart adds another accolade to his resume.
