The Detroit Lions face off against the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football, but in order to secure the No. 1 seed in the NFC, they’ll require some assistance.
For the Lions to secure the top seed in the NFC, two conditions must be met: the Green Bay Packers must defeat the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, and the Lions must then win against the 49ers.
That scenario would secure the Lions the top seed and a first-round bye in the playoffs.
The Lions are 13-2 this season and have already secured a playoff berth.
If both the Vikings and Lions win, the NFC North title and the No. 1 seed in the NFC will be determined by the final game of the season.
