Hanna Cavinder may finally be free of blame for the struggles of Carson Beck and the Georgia Bulldogs. Their win over Tennessee on Saturday night put an end to the infamous ‘Cavinder Curse‘ that has materialized in college football over the last few weeks.
… for now, at least …
Hanna is the sister of Haley. She is also the girlfriend of Beck. They made their relationship official on social media prior to their final year of collegiate eligibility. Georgia’s starting quarterback will be drafted into the NFL in April. The Cavinder twins hope to cut down the nets with the Miami Hurricanes as women’s college basketball national champions around the same time.
Although Hanna and Beck started dating more than four months ago, a pair of photos captured on Oct. 12 were at the center of controversy, for lack of better word. Cavinder posted two pictures with her boyfriend on the field at Sanford Stadium after Georgia’s win over Mississippi State.
Beck’s numbers immediately took a significant dip in each of his next three games
He threw only five touchdowns to nine interceptions after Hanna’s ‘QB is a QT’ post. The Bulldogs also lost to the Rebels in Oxford.
As a result, Hanna Cavinder was blamed for Carson Beck’s struggles. Even Haley had jokes. She called her sister “the biggest curse in college football.” Hanna blamed Haley for starting the ‘Cavinder Curse’ with her boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson.
Beck finally got his swagger back during a win over Tennessee on Saturday night. He completed 62.5% of his passes for 347 yards and two touchdowns. He did not throw an interception. Georgia’s College Football Playoff hopes are still very much alive with the victory.
As soon as the clock hit zero, the Cavinders used a viral trend on TikTok to proudly declare the death of the ‘Cavinder Curse.’
Hanna is off the hook. Her ‘QB is a QT’ post can no longer be held responsible for the struggles of her boyfriend. We’ll see how long that lasts…
