MADISON, Wis. (WSAW) – One of the most decorated running backs in Wisconsin’s storied history is being immortalized in college football history. Former Wisconsin running back Montee Ball has been selected as a College Football Hall of Fame inductee for the class of 2025.

 

Ball had a historic career in his four years in Madison. He holds the record for most rushing touchdowns in Wisconsin history with 77 and for most in a season with 33. Ball scored 39 total touchdowns in his junior season, which tied Barry Sanders’ all-time college football record.

 

Ball was a Heisman finalist in 2011, finishing fourth. He won the Doak Walker Award in 2011, given to the best running back in college football.

 

In his time, he helped guide Wisconsin to three straight Rose Bowls. He’s the only player in Rose Bowl history to score a touchdown in three straight seasons.

 

Ball was a second-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, playing three seasons in the NFL.
