As the Detroit Lions prepare for their Week 15 matchup against the Buffalo Bills, head coach Dan Campbell gave a positive update on the availability of five key players for Sunday’s game. Speaking to the media on Friday, Campbell expressed confidence that several players who have been dealing with injuries are trending in the right direction.
Paschal seems to have handled the week quite well so far. Additionally, Decker, Levi, and the reader. I believe we’re headed in the right direction with all those individuals since Mac cleared protocol,” Campbell stated. With those folks, today will undoubtedly be the cherry on top, so that’s excellent. This week has been excellent for us. This comprises offensive tackle Taylor Decker and defensive linemen Alim McNeill, Levi Onwuzurike, DJ Reader, and Josh Paschal. Campbell’s optimism indicates that all five players are on track to be available for the game, despite their limitations during previous workouts.
In addition, Campbell recognized the significance of the team’s mini-bye, which provided the Lions with a short but necessary respite before their final stretch. “It was like saying goodbye, take a moment to catch your breath,” Campbell remarked. “We were able to resume some of the activities we had been doing prior to entering the stretch we were in, and we had some important work to do.”
Campbell is well aware of the quality of the opponent the Lions will face in the Bills as they continue to contend for the top spot in the NFC. “This team is excellent. We have to be at the top of our game because they play elite football, but we’re excited about it. With their playoff hopes on the line, the Lions will be prepared to play the 10-3 Bills with important players perhaps returning to action and a week to recuperate.
