Following the Crimson Tide’s historic road victory over LSU under coach Kalen DeBoer, Alabama football is looking to defeat Mercer. As far as the College Football Playoff is concerned, Alabama has little margin for error. With two defeats going into the Mercer game, the Crimson Tide probably need to win to qualify for the first 12-team field. To end the regular season, however, the Crimson Tide ought to be favored in each of its next three games. Alabama should therefore qualify for the playoffs if it does its business.
