Georgia football did a lot of great things against UMass on Saturday, but they weren’t perfect.
Georgia football has just won their ninth game of the season on Saturday, this time against UMass in somewhat dominant fashion 59-21.
It’s hard to have many takeaways from a game like this because of how large the gap is between Georgia and UMass, but there are still some positive and negative things to take away from this game.
1. Carson Beck’s stock continues to rise
Carson Beck was coming off one of the best performances of his career last week against Tennessee. So what did he do against UMass? He had another elite performance.
Beck finished the game completing 20 of 31 passes for 297 yards and four touchdowns. Those four touchdowns came on the first four offensive possessions for Georgia in this game, which may be the first time that’s happened in Georgia’s history. And the thing that maybe matters the most is turnovers, which he had zero once again.
Beck has shown throughout the season how great of a QB he can be, but it’s his consistency week to week that has been an issue. So the fact that he was able to play extremely well for the second week in a row, even if it was against a bad UMass team, is very encouraging to see.
