Brentford will let one goalkeeper leave the club on loan this month.

Mark Flekken will remain No1 for the second half of the season, but Standard Sport understands one of the Dutchman’s three understudies will be allowed to leave on a six-month loan in January in search of more game time.

The Bees will await loan offers for Hákon Valdimarsson, Matthew Cox and Ellery Balcombe before deciding which of the three will depart for the remainder of the season, but only one will.0:00

The preference is for Valdimarrson or Cox to be the one to get first-team minutes elsewhere. Brentford chiefs pulled the plug on Balcombe’s season-long loan at St Mirren earlier this month in order to explore options for Cox and Valdimarrson. St Mirren had also been working on signing a new goalkeeper, which may have put Balcombe’s regular game time at risk if he had stayed.

Midfielder Yunus Emre Konak could also leave on loan.

A spell away from Brentford for midfielder Konak is also being actively worked on, with the Turk in need of more game time after making five cameos off the bench in the first half of the Premier League season.

Manchester City vs Brentford: Latest City injury news and predicted City starting eleven

Following on from their 8-nil FA Cup third-round tie win over Salford City Manchester City return to Premier League action when they take on Brentford. A tough test awaits Pep Guardiola’s side against a Brentford side that is typically tough to beat at the GTech Community Stadium. Here is the latest City injury news and my predicted City starting eleven ahead of tonight’s match.

    Latest Manchester City injury news.

Pep Guardiola had no update on the injury status of his squad when he fronted the media for his pre-game press conference yesterday. Looking back at City’s squad for their win over Salford City four players missed that game due to injury. Rodri and John Stones missed the game through injury. Rodri is definitely out of tonight’s match as he continues his recovery from an ACL injury. It is unlikely that John Stones will feature tonight, either. Stones remains injured with a foot injury.

There is the potential for Ruben Dias and Oscar Bobb to be a part of the Manchester City squad for tonight’s match. Both players returned to training last week and there is a chance that they could be available for tonight’s match. That will be known when the team lineups are announced before kickoff tonight.

    Predicted City starting eleven

Stefan Ortega- Ederson started in goal against Salford City but I expect Ortega to return to the starting lineup tonight.

Rico Lewis- I’d be staggered if Rico Lewis didn’t start at right-back tonight. It’s almost his position to lose based on the Kyle Walker situation.

Manuel Akanji- The Swiss international should lineup alongside Nathan Ake in City’s defence tonight.

Nathan Ake- Ake played the first half against Salford City. He has been in good form of late and that should see him start tonight.

Josko Gvardiol- Gvardiol finally got some rest as he missed City’s FA Cup win. The Croatian international should resume at left-back tonight.

Mateo Kovacic- I expect Kovacic to start in midfield tonight. He will have a big role to play if he does start against Thomas Frank’s side.

Bernardo Silva- Another player who was rested last weekend and he is almost an automatic selection right now for Pep Guardiola.

Kevin De Bruyne- De Bruyne has slowly been getting back into form and he should start at the GTech Community Stadium.

Phil Foden- The England international has been showing signs of returning to his best during City’s recent games. That form should see him start and he will have a pivotal role to play.

Savinho- Savinho has been in sparkling form on the left wing of late and I expect him to play there against Brentford.

Erling Haaland- Haaland had some much needed rest against Salford City. He should fit and ready to fire tonight and he enters tonight’s match after scoring three goals in his past two matches.

The Foxes are looking to stay up in the English top flight while the Bees are trying to replicate their first half of the season.

The January transfer window is now in full swing and both Premier League sides are looking to strengthen their team with new faces.

While the Bees are attempting to duplicate their first half of the season, the Foxes are hoping to maintain their position in the English top division. Now that the January transfer market is open, both Premier League teams are trying to bolster their rosters with fresh players.

Miguel Almiron, Isaac Hayden, and Targett are among the players the Magpies have been seeking to sell during this window, and a permanent transfer this month will aid them as they attempt to adhere to PSR regulations. He still has 18 months left on his current contract.
