Florida will play in The Swamp one last time in 2024 this Saturday. To help fire up the fans, the program is turning to a Gator Great to be the honorary Mr. Two Bits.
Major Wright will lead the cheer before kickoff on Saturday, it was announced Tuesday. Wright caught up with FloridaGators.com writer Chris Harry about his return to Gainesville.

“I’ve been wanting to do it,” Wright told Harry. “Now that I’m getting the chance and it’s going to be amazing.”
Wright, a native of Fort Lauderdale, played for UF from 2007-09, collecting a national championship ring for the 2008 season. Wright’s devastating hit in the BCS title game that helped set the tone against Oklahoma remains one of the most fondly remembered plays in program history.
After 3 seasons at Florida, Wright declared early for the 2010 NFL Draft. He was selected by the Chicago Bears in the third round.
Wright spent his first 4 seasons with the Bears. He would return to the Sunshine State ahead of the 2014 season, landing in Tampa Bay. Wright spent his final 3 seasons with the Buccaneers. Over his professional career, he logged 326 total tackles, 22 pass deflections, 9 interceptions, 3 defensive touchdowns, 3 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recovers.
