Arsenal fans send ‘cooked’ message to Adidas after new kit debut vs Bournemouth, club icon gives verdict

Arsenal donned a brand new look as they wore their third kit for the first time this season against Bournemouth on Saturday.

Due to the Cherries’ home strip being comprised of red and black stripes, Arsenal were unable to wear their red and white home kit or black away kit for this trip to the south coast.

As such, for the very first time, Mikel Arteta’s side turned out in the light blue and lilac third-choice kit which is new for this season.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ coverage of the game (19/10/2024, 17:31), legendary former Arsenal striker Alan Smith gave his verdict on the look. He said: “I like it. It’ll fly off the shelves.”

The ex-forward was not alone in being a fan of the shirt.

Arsenal fans give verdict on new third kit

A number of Arsenal fans on X were quick to share their thoughts on the new look.

One said: “Have to say the Arsenal kit for the Bournemouth game is my favourite ever.”

Another stated: “Kit looks way better than I thought it would…”

One supporter added: “Almost about half an hour of play and Arsenal look quite good in that 3rd kit.”

Another claimed: “I feel Adidas cooked again.”

However, comedian and Arsenal fan Matt Lucas was seemingly less enthusiastic, as he mused: “This new Arsenal kit looks like one that they had to create for a video game because they didn’t have the rights to use any of the actual kits. And they had to make up team names, too. Come on North London Rovers!!!”

Arsenal kit changes this season

This is not the first time this season that the Gunners have been forced into donning an alternative kit option.

Arsenal were forced to change their planned kit when they faced Tottenham Hotspur.

Having planned to wear their home strip against their North London rivals, they were ordered by the Premier League to switch to their black away version due to a perceived clash.
