Cardinals To Open Practice Window For Darius Robinson

The Cardinals’ defensive line’s need for assistance has started to count down. Coach Jonathan Gannon announced on Monday that Darius Robinson, a rookie defensive lineman selected in the first round, will be able to work with his teammates this week for the first time since he had a calf injury during practice just prior to the start of the season. All Robinson needs to do, according to Gannon, is “just move around and play football.” Before practice on Wednesday, the return-to-play designation will probably be made official.

Robinson is still listed as injured. Robinson has three weeks to join the 53-man roster, according to the Cards. That might occur as early as this Saturday, prior to the Cardinals’ trip to Green Bay to play the Packers.

Robinson was expected to be an impact player after having a great training camp. Coach Jonathan Gannon paired him with the players who did not play the final two preseason games in order to keep them healthy. He played 10 snaps in the preseason opener against the Saints. Robinson is currently sidelined due to a practice injury that was regrettably not prevented. Due to a triceps injury, experienced defensive lineman Justin Jones has already been sidelined for the entire season for the Cardinals.
